Please do some CTA and Metra Railroad crossing videos whenever you have the free time to do them.
FNBS!
What a shit video 😅
I use to work at an intermodal yard. If snow was in the well, we had to shovel it out. Anyone who has seen the inside of a well, it’s only side frames and cross braces. You can see the ballast and RR ties. 2” of snow could accumulate from the time we shoveled it out until it was loaded (2-2 1/2 miles of rail cars). Once we had the train ready to go, it had to pass under a height detector. 2” from the top of the double stack, to the bottom of the lowest bridge.
Well someone got fired
Someone messed up up self inflected wound on the railroad 😂
The 79th bus is always a circus, lol. Probably my least favorite line. When going to south shore, the 71 and 75 are more chill.
Just think about now all the Christmas junk from China is starting to arrive !
They aired the wheels on the train cars up a scooch too much.
Pissss test
The engineer used to be a BC, Canadian truck driver.
Did this train go under the 11' 8" bridge too?
Someone's got some splainin' to do.
Lit bro: brother i scratch the containers 😢 Me: how the heck is these scratch up these are expensive 💀
Engine 4 and Tower Ladder 10 returning back to quarters
Hmmmm lack of road knowledge and not checking train thoroughly absolute UTTER INCOMPETENCE. On train crew and management 😂😂
Why were double stacks routed that way? Who gave clearances on that route? Who rerouted the train to that route before obtaining clearances? I am sure the FRA wanted to find out.
The CN did the same thing right after they took over the Illinois Central railroad
This is percision scheduled railroading at it's conception. Now shes into her adolescent years with PTC coming up on most equipment now. MOW away
It has nothing whatsoever to do with PSR. Nothing. Please, stop using "PSR" to mean "Wah, wah, the railroad made a mistake or did something I don't like"
oooff...there's some carnage...😵
Some purple line will go to 54th/cermak and some pink line to go to linden.
Really? I never heard of that!
lol April fools
I thought it was special cargo for a moment when I looked the thumbnail but when I clicked the video I realized what it was
Brilliant Einstein.
Yes sir now that's American Railroading at it's best !
how does a train hit a “low” bridge? someone screwed up very bad. to dispatch a train where it should not have been. ether a disgruntled employee, or a nu-be that did not understand a couple simple rules.
Most likely, the train got rerouted because of a derailment or some other hold-up on its regular route. Somebody made a dumb but simple mistake. Very unlikely to be sabotage, very unlikely to be somebody so stupid that they can't understand "Don't send tall train under low bridge."
That is the most unique Storrowing I've ever seen
I bet they were re-routed because of a derailment and some one wasn't paying attention.
I would agree, it was re-routed because intermodal traffic probably did not run on this track.
HAHAHAHAHA! 😆
Looks like someone's getting the sack.
The irony of JB Hunt Trailers being damaged by a Dispatcher sending them under a low bridge, seems to make Truck Drivers smile. They are usually wrecked by the Student drivers as they learn how to pull a 53 Foot Trailer.... The Railroad destroying them is particularly precious to drivers.
Shows you how strong the locking lugs are that lock the containers together.
ISO connectors. I have a trucking biz and we do on occasion haul them. You would not believe how many at the rail yard do not get locked on the chassis . Always my drivers check them and use high viz zip ties once locked to hold them in place !
@@jhonsiders6077 very smart! too easy to come off the trailer on a turn.
Remember that tthey have to hold huge stacks of containers together on ships in storms.
Oh dear. The signalman will have a lot of explaining to do.
Yay privitized railroads! Profits were made, all that matters
Someone may have stacked and over height container, these are easy to miss when loading. You would think that there would be a height warning indicator leaving the yard.
When you get a haircut 💀
Hogger use to drive for Swift?
don' think a Swifty driver has mental capacity to be an engineer.
It was probably allowed to happen as the most cost effective way to have a higher clearance bridge built without years of redtape. Between insurance and doubling freight on that route, there's no doubt that this was a profitable "mistake".
Damn that's so crafty and smart haha holy shit it makes sense
Man, that's cynical ... and probably true!
Looks like they had a 'Smashing Good Time' !
Now THATS comedy gold there! Nicely done….
Living in Selma, AL in the early 1970’s, I remember an L&N train taking down a river bridge once. Turned out, the train had a couple of cars w/ 155 SP guns headed to Vietnam. One of the turrets came unlocked & the barrel turned just enough to catch the bridge truss on the side. Took down the entire bridge & remainder of the train into the river.
light rail
This should never happen.
Glad you were here to explain that to us. We'd never have figured it out without your help.
Sometimes they engineers turn the turbos on too fast and each car pops a wheelie. Ol pookie did that in 92 with his turbo train and hat it happen on it again for this time it got going to there
Just another example of over paid, under worked union workers (not) doing their job.
This is a fireable offense. Every mainline is governed by a divisional timetable that has clearance, speed and other restrictions. Someone clearly forgot to check that before routing this train, from the dispatcher all the way down to the engineer/conductor. Multiple failures all around. Seen this happen before, and the person responsible was escorted off the property.
Sad thing is, they'll probably put on the engineer and conductor for not reading the timetable. Everything tend to fall on them.
No the real question is how many times have a double stack come through here is it normal if not it’s the dispatch issue is it is normal then it’s DOT fault for having a messed up bridge still in operations like accident waiting to happen type thing because a conductor and engineer will not continue on without proper permission on unidentified track Territory they do control what route to take on their own they have to have clearance no pun intended 😮😂
How many times do double-stack trains go under the bridge that's too low for double-stacks? Why do you need to ask? Never, except by mistake.
Somebody lowered the bridge…….or raised the track
someone tamped the track higher........
it is possible the bridge could have lowered it’s self. not unheard of but most times the street lowers at the bridge due to ground settling. ( earth quake thing). but even a 40 story condo tower can tilt. ( look at the one in san francisco) not the first building, bridge to sink.
@@larryjanson4011 wouldn't want to be in those condos lots of poor foundation planning!
@@larryjanson4011 Possible but unlikely unless it's a new bridge. If it's been there a few years, it should have settled all it's going to settle.
Show us the 'wounded' bridge . . .
Couldn't find it. I wish I had a photo of it.
someone has a new bridge!
You rode our new 2022-2023 Novas yet? We got the 8500 Series Novas at my garage.
I used to drive 95th bus route throw the South Chicago neighborhood.
