I believe the concept of female submission has, unfortunately, had a negative impact on many children growing up in Africa, where it was sometimes misinterpreted or equated with abuse. In some cases, men used it as a justification for controlling or even mistreating their wives, stripping them of their voice and subjecting them to mental and physical abuse. While I understand and respect the biblical perspective on women’s submission, I believe it is easier and more meaningful for a woman to submit to a man who demonstrates strong and respectful leadership-spiritually, emotionally, and financially. When a man leads with respect and integrity, submission becomes a natural and willing response from his partner. Sadly, some men have abused their role, which has understandably led many women to resist the idea of submission altogether. In today’s world, some women associate submission with losing their own dignity or becoming a ‘doormat,’ which can be a deeply painful and traumatizing view. Submission should never mean losing respect or one’s own voice in a relationship

If your marriage DOES last, it will most likely become a loveless joyless sexless desert, her looks and figure will go, but she will still be high maintenance, demanding and expensive, nagging and manipulative. Does all this sound like it’s worth it for 2 or 3 years of reasonable sex? - and even that will probably be rationed, as payment for doing, or not doing what she wants, or extorting you until you do it. Stay single, be happy and free, enjoy your hobbies, have money and nice cars, bikes, house, holidays. Or make yourself a miserable slave?

I think a lot of Christians should learn more about being themselves instead of portraying Christianism as perfect, so when people see a Christian with a glass of Wine they don’t seem surprised.
