I think the problem is the injection point & reason for including DEI in games. If a dev decides "I have this terrific idea, this black trans lesbian with one leg is the first woman to solo pilot a starship. She visits all these planets & is searching for her leg. It will be awesome!" Ok. That's a game for someone. Then a dev says "I have this terrific idea, A married White father of 3 falls out of a boat into a different dimension where he has to fight his way back to his family." And management tells the dev, terrific idea but the main char has to be a black woman who is butt ugly. She falls out of the boat & realizes she's trans, make that game or no game at all. The second example is happening industry wide with gaming. That's what he's talking about.
