It was a bit tricky that one, I had to make plugs and weld up the water channels, also build up weld to machine the top boss, and fitting the outer O ring very tricky, Honda must of been trying to save money that year with using the minimum amount of alluminium 😂

@marcusbrown2493 yeah, that outer o ring cutting looked like a bit of a nail biter!

This head is going to have combustion chamber inserts with an inner o ring as well, but fitting an outer ring is the starting point but there is very little room, I have done this with many cylinder heads, Teflon isn't an option in this case, viton o rings are used. I,ll post the finished job eventually but you can look at some of my other videos for insert manufacturing

@@marcusbrown2493 I got the older Alpha 400 +, I have to use the abysmal Alpha link CAD CAM software for programming, so clunky etc, pity i cant use Fusion 360 with this lathe unlike my older Bridgeport with the Heidenein TNC155 control! 🤣🤣

@@crozwayne this one is great as it has the full fanuc controller so I use solidworks hsmworks cad cam, parat toolholders to 5 micron repeatability, it's the S version, don't think they did many of the S, was looking for a turret as a possibility too

@marcusbrown2493 was out yesterday for the first mate , still needs water but there is afew knocking about , had 4 dollaghan one really nice one and 41 trout , there's rain coming over the weekend so next week should be good for the river , Ballinderry will be good soon to let you know about it aswell

Any chance of maybe sometime getting it on your dyno to test it....let me know if you need any help with the Denford, I did a bit of work on mine before I sold it, I had been fitting a centroid controller which was pretty neat😁

Cheers Dave, yep had it for years but only started using it, I have a bigger Buma as well, I built the frame on castors for it so I could change cylinders easier and not lift the bar off the table every time, no fun working on the floor.
