A Raspberry Pi Carl Sagan TV - DIY
Apologies for the poor quality 🤞
Why?
1. To celebrate or commemorate Carl Sagan on his birthday - 9th Nov
2. The story behind Voyager 1 mission, leading to the Pale Blue Dot Speech - fascinated me.
3. Mildly disappointed at the state of education in India. Hoping this can change it.
4. It seemed like a good holiday project.
What does it do?
1. When idle it shows a clock
2. On press of a green momentary button plays a clip from Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey which features Carl Sagan's famous Pale Blue Dot speech (sadly not shown...production errors 😔 sorry).
3. I can take my phone, and, command the tv to play a youtube video of my choice.
4. Red button press shutdown the pi. (Not shown).

A simple design for an alarm system
Просмотров 406 лет назад
This demonstration shows the design adopted for a small alarm system. It uses the following: 1. Wemos d1 mini wifi module 2. Raspberry pi board (although not necessary) 3. A wifi router The wifi module was programmed to pair with my wifi network, and send out a signal to a webserver hosted on the raspbery pi, which in-turn lights up one of the pi's on-board led. The pi usage is bit of an overki...
buen video, una consulta. Sin una antena externa cuanta distancia alcanza?
Can you use these modules as a programmed radio transmitter/receiver pair? Example, use an arduino to read a sensor and transfer the information in a str() format?
have you found out? I purchased the same component but I can't seem to read any signal...
I cant pair it can you help me
Hey Arun, would you be so kind as to show how you built your Airgram client on Arduino? I want to do exactly what you've done in this video but there's very scant documentation online as to how to do so
Maybe post a link to a git repo or we can talk if you'd prefer
Great video, very clear, thank you.
hi, a nice project, did you find zero crossing of your AC mains power lines in order to achieve the dimmer?
thanks for the introduction, have you accidently checked the range of them modules? (with or without antenna)
They ranged 250 meters with antenna. It was a basic test - lighting the led connected on the other end.
@@ArunJayapal it sounds too good to be true dear Sir, maybe you tried it in open area without any other blockage nor electric interference. I am using a home made copper spiral antenna 17cm in length, my temporary simple test is being conducted at the moment on my workbench where they are only 14mm apart🤓😂
@Arun Jayapal from my experiments early this morning I would say it has a reliable link of around 80-90 meters in the city in which distance is divided 3/4 outdoors and a quarter inside a building. Has about 25 meters from the lobby to the parking lot 2 floors below ground- it will not reach all distant corners at the parking lot at minus 2 but only close to the area of the elevator vertical passage. Saying that, it is more than thrice the range u get from FS1000A transmitter 👍😊.
@@ronen124 yes, it was line of sight
@@ArunJayapal exactly, thick concrete walls with forced iron rods imbedded inside will cut the transition distance to a third if not more of what you get in open space
I subjectively tested how fast you can push the button in momentary mode and it seems to if you press it faster than every 0.7 seconds or so the output just stays on (retriggers).
Good video, it helped. One additional thing: A couple more things to add: In modes 1 and 2 multiple outputs can be on at once. In mode 3 a second press of the same switch does NOT turn of that output. But you can turn off all outputs by pushing two XMTR buttons at once.
What do you mean by xmtr?
When i use this receiver module for operating a relay After a power cut the relay is not found in the mode that it was before the power cut Any solution for this Any microcontroller or something I don't wanna use latching relay
yes, you have to save any changes at your uC or external EEPROM and when the system boots up load last setting to your relays
Nice video but terrible music.
Finally found this great video. Can I use 1 receiver to control 2 different receiver mode?
I don't think you can get multiple modes on a receiver. I used this listing for instructions... bit.ly/32xW2Wy
Hello Can i send you a picture from my Modul i Never See this nur i Need
How do I get the receiver equipped with vibration and for example when the first transmitter sends a signal that the receiver vibrates once with the second transmitter the receiver vibrates twice and so on
Thanks for asking. 🙂 I would use the appropriate channel on the receiver end, and some mcu to drive the vibration device. The 2 channels will connect to an arduino (say) on two of its gpio pins (in an input pull down configuration). The arduino has the logic to drive the vibrator based on which gpio is HIGH. Likewise on the transmitter side, use the corresponding channel. Hope you got it. 🤞🙂
Arun Jayapal can i send you a picture
@@davidebarone4236 why not meetup in a public chat room like iot stackexchange chat room...I go by handle "deostroll"
Does this app logs, even if the mobile display is OFF ??
It does. But it is erratic. Android is designed to optimize power usage. Therefore it reserves the right to kill background applications when it sees fit. And we mortals don't have control over that... 😊 The better alternative is use Tasker for doing something like this.
Great start.
Great stuff! What is the highest frequency of pressing the buttons that the receiver still recognizes? In other words, how fast can you press the buttons without losing button presses?
Hmm. Looks like something I also want to know...however I do not have access to my main lab at the moment. But do share what you find...
Thank you. Just that I need.
im making a bike security system with this. for this i need PIN A (latch mode), PIN B (latch mode), PIN C (momentary). can i use this configuration on this modules????
No. All pins will work depending on the mode it is set to (irrespective of whether it participated in the mode setting operation)
@@ArunJayapal try this. Turn on system. Press and hold key which you want to momentary. Your device would turn on for which you hold the button. And now release that button your device will go off. Try it.
@@ArunJayapal www.google.com/amp/s/m.aliexpress.com/item/32971119720.html Check this item description. And if different modes are working at same time please let me know. +918198049664. This would be so helpful for me
@@HarpreetSingh-yo9ir though it says a mixture of different modes are possible in the product description, there is no explanation how its done. I have no access to my iot workshop since the corona virus lockdown is still in effect. Please post a video response if you've figured this out...
