I can really connect with Jess as a character.He was a messed up kid who didn't know how to have a healthy relationship, but he was trying and learning.Rory was the first person to make him want to be better. Unfortunately, she didn't quite understand that he was a different person than Dean.She would have to treat him as an individual, and she failed to appreciate his feelings while they were together.Maybe neither of them were ready for their feelings toward each other.

I don’t get what people see in Jess. Jess was a classic douchebag who never communicated, never made proper plans so Rory was always waiting for him to call, lied to Rory and just straight up never talked to her about anything, which I’m pretty sure I’ve already mentioned twice, and started trying to interfere even before Jess and Dean had broken up. He tried to have sex with her, and then yelled at her when she didn’t want to. He disappeared on her without a single word and broke her heart in the process. He never wanted to meet her family and embarrassed her that night at Emily’s. He almost never agreed to go to events Rory really wanted to go to with him. He’s just got a bad attitude in general. He never deserved her. Dean sure as hell wasn’t perfect either but he was a whole lot better of a boyfriend than stupid Jess. I would never wanna be in a relationship with someone like him.
