10 Day Princess Cruises from Ft. Lauderdale to Princess Cays Bahamas, St. Thomas, Dominica, St. Lucia, Martinique, Antigua, & 2 sea days back to Ft. Lauderdale; is catching my interest for 2026. Or flying to San Juan and catching their roundtrip, seeing more islands for their 7 day Southern Caribbean cruises.

Did they offer free shuttle to the port?

Before even watching the video I think Southern is more desirable because there are not as many cruises there. We are doing a 7 day out of Puerto Rico to the Southern. If you go out of Tampa, Miami, Ft Lauderdale, you are pretty much doing eastern or western Caribbean unless you go for longer than 7 days. So it’s a lot of the same ports or private islands on every cruise. Nassau, Cozumel, etc. Go on a truly Southern and you get to places like Antigua that the normal 7 days cruises out of Florida can not reach.

So true about the staff. Had the same experience on Symphony last year! Amazing.

Several comments: 1) After five cruises to the Caribbean, I am getting tired of the same old destinations and the predictable excursions. I also have below zero interest for the "private destinations." A number of the standard destinations are pretty much complete wastes like Bimini. the ABC Islands offer a good contrast to most standard destinations. 2) If you are really serious about seeing the Southern Caribbean, forget the megaships and try one of the yacht style cruises like Windstar Cruises. They do 7 day cruises out of Puerto Rico and Barbados. They have a "no sea day" philosophy where you are hitting a different port every day. Also, since they have ships for 200-400 passengers, they can go into much smaller ports than the large cruise ships. While they are more expensive than the cheapest inside cabins on the large ships, they are actually cheaper than some of the suites on the larger ships and the inside cabins on Icon of the Sea. I thought that flying into a place like San Juan or Barbados would be pricey our of Phoenix, there was little difference than fling into Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Just an idea.

I booked A southern Caribbean cruise to Aruba, Curacao bc its an 8 day cruise and I'm on Oasis. The ship is just as much of an experience for us as the ports. This gives us 4 full days on the ship for sea days which was super important bc there is so much to see and do on the ship. We wanted an immersive activity based ship and we wanted time to enjoy that as well as the ports. This seemed the like the perfect itinerary for us to get a good balance of ship time and port time.

I like port days. I wish those 8 days would add one more port so there would be 4. I'm thinking about doing a btb 8 and 6 on Oasis. That way lots of ports on the 6 and sea days on the 8.

I love the southern Caribbean if there were more options. It seems these ships go to the same ports all the time like it’s a seasonal thing I live in New York, and would like to be able to port out of my own city and go to the southern Caribbean, without having to fly to Florida, or another state or Puerto Rico
