I think Xela is perfect location for good cool weather. Not too hot, not too cold.

@@therehastobesomethingmoore I would say yes if you want to fully immerse in culture and relax. Antigua amd Lake Atitlan seems to be the first options for a lot of expats and retirees but I personally love Xela.

@@PursuingTravels Sounds wonderful to us. My wife is originally from Nicaragua, but even here in the mountains of Matagalpa, it’s too hot for us. We will miss the dear friends we have made here. Eventually we hope to visit Antigua and Lake Atitlan, but we speak Spanish, like that Xela temps are cooler, and don’t think we want to be around lots n lots of tourists all the time. We very much want to immerse ourselves in the culture. I am a bit of a home body but my wife is very outgoing and makes friends easily. We should be in Xela by Feb 15th and are very excited except that to get our two senior dogs there, we will make a two day trip in a flat bed truck. One of life’s adventures ! Ha
