@@ToranDrives I looked into it. This is still iDrive 8.5. iDrive 9 is an Android based UI and has touch sensitive shortcut buttons on the left side of the screen. Like you said, the X1, X2 and the new-ish 1 series will all have iDrive 9 and not have the control knob we're used to. 3 series and up will keep using the Linux based iDrive 8 until the end of the platform's lifespan. Only one place said X3 will be the only model in the lineup to feature both the iDrive 9 and a physical control knob, but I don't think it was correct.

@@NotCommanderShepard but think about it. Why would it have the media, com and nav on the side and on the iDrive controller. The biggest difference between 8.5 and comes in the driving settings menu and the ambient lighting controls. Both virtually the same. Bimmerblog who spent time around the X3 had confirm it’s iDrive9 and not 8.5. It’s a much smoother flowing OS in the X3 compared to the X1. Spending time around the X1 and playing with this new iDrive9 it’s significantly smoother in the X3

@@ToranDrives You know what? Both that one site and you are correct! Sorry about that. X3 really is the only model to have both the iDrive controller and the BMW OS9 (as BMW calls it, apprently).

@@lauracatli01 I understand. I would say the driving quality of the X3 has improved from the previous generation. The design team has been shifted so we can hopefully expect better in a few years

@@ToranDrives I test drove it for about 30 minutes. My saleswoman even allowed me to drive it at around 70mph on the interstate. (something I would never do if it's my new BMW) The ride was beautiful and the handling was much better than the 2022 X3 that I had. The cabin was so much quieter as well. Unfortunately, I just can't get over the cheap-looking plastic interior parts. :( I have been driving BMWs since 1984.

@@Mr.Lambert777 I’d say drive the vehicles. It’s the ultimate deciding factor. The BMW key is heavier. The B58 is reliable and capable of plenty of power with great fuel economy. If you’re in the tristate I’m always down to assist

Thanks for atleast having the title realistic. I can’t see myself buying this bucket of plastic owning current 22x3 . Next ix3 which I guess will come in 2026 they probably will give you plastic chairs inside and call it sustainability 😢. I’m not impressed just saw the 25 x3 today for the 3 rd time in person and got the interior is so bad and scratchy plastic. Probably have to look at q5 25 . This x3 is ain’t it chief . Insulting loyal customers as they just don’t care as they think people will buy anyways

@@karthikJ-99 I agree. I am thinking maybe moving towards the 25 M340 or M2 next year. I was going to continue with the x3 M50 but I sat inside of it today and I was NOT impressed with it, so this will be my last x3 unfortunately. I love my compact suv or might just move on to Mercedes , the glc 43 will be slower but at least it’s not too bad as the x3.

@@Mr.Lambert777 I think Yaa more customer like us dont buy this abomination then their sales will tank and may be .. may be they will release a new LCI soon and give the interior the best material . I mean honestly all the things would probably cost them 1k-1500$ to have nicer materials but they will make it in volume after all they sold 350000 of these last year . Their creative genius should be fired think they can save 1500$ on each car but what’s the point if the sales go half .

@@karthikJ-99 a LCI is definitely needed like yesterday ! When I compared it to my current bmw , I told the sales manager this entire interior is plastic comparing.. even the rear hatch scuff plates are plastic, the ambient and lighting in the rear is gone, the car is just horrible period. I will not be leasing this one. I hope BMW listen to the customers about this x3. I mean, talk about the cost cutting. And then they want 70k No thanks.

The non “M” version flows a little more smoothly

I’ve had 4 BMWs. I currently have a 2025 cayenne gts pebble grey and a 2022 m5 comp matte black. The new BMWs looks so ugly,their interior designs are alright but I hate the exterior. I was going to order a m5 touring ordered before it was revealed, my concern back then was the price. After it was revealed, it was pretty affordable compared to like an Audi, the new BMWs maybe ugly but so far other than the x1, all new BMWs are pretty reasonable priced. Now I’m looking at replacing my m5 comp for a used rs6 or a new amg for 2025

@@Mr.Lambert777 i5m60 and i4m50 would be your best least option at this time. The good thing about the brand is that they do listen. They already appointed new designers so we have something light at the end of the tunnel

@@ToranDrives good ,because these current designers are foolish ,and they are doing too much cost cutting. I wouldn’t dare approve that x3 to come out in the public; That’s going to drive away loyal x3 customers that’s going to go to Mercedes, other brands or just get another BMW instead of the x3. I feel though the x3 will be collecting dust in sales. What are the incentives on the i5 M60 i4 M50 ?

@@Mr.Lambert777 roughly $8500-9000. Plus dealer discount. Depending on state, no tax. What state are you in? The good news is that there’s still a lot of 2024’s still rolling in. I mean people are ordering the new ones so we’ll see

@@ToranDrives oh wow really ?? Hmmm. I’m in the south Jackson Ms/atlanta. I wouldn’t mind getting an electric car, but I don’t like electric cars but for that price I would kind of consider. And we will see how the sales are. I’m definitely not feeling this vehicle and I like the x3 but this one has me shaking my head.

@@Mr.Lambert777 yeah I would look into the incentives you could get on a lease. Just temporary until things change up. They’re not bad at all. Sold two yesterday. I4 xDrive40i. 2 years of free 30 minute fast charging through electrify America. Check the i4 forums. People love them. They look good in individual colors too

I'm not feeling it, but I do love the engine and the transmission.. The materials are not up to par comparing to my 23 model m40. If I get this vehicle ; I have to have a discount

@@Mr.Lambert777 have you sat in it yet? If not, do that and see if u feel different. I have a 22 M40i. No issue with quality of the 25, plastic on the doors is just not impactful enough with everything else this car offers.

@@tgchris2222 I have not sat in it yet ,but I know me; my thing is I like my panoramic roof and I want it to be functional, BMW wants more money for less features make it make sense. If it doesn’t make sense to me I have to pass I don't want to regret leasing something that I'm not happy with. I cannot get the jet black wheels with high-performance tires just performance tires. If I get this car with the jet black wheels I will have to buy high-performance tires right off the bat. My current one came with high-performance tires with jet black wheels. I would definitely have to see this in person if not I will have to go with the BMW M340 or Mercedes GLC 43. At least it has a retractable panoramic it has plastics but at least it's a tad bit nicer imo. I am a Young car enthusiast that knows what he likes 🤷🏿‍♂️

I have a Convertible Corvette Z06 as well as my M40i, so I get to balance my car desires across multiple vehicles and allows me to accept the minor Cons of each…..X3 is still my overall favorite vehicle ever owned as a daily. And now I get Merino leather seats, an improvement to already my fav steering wheel, and better suspension and braking. Sunroof and door plastics won’t change how I feel. Enjoy your selection, so many great vehicles out there.

Yeah, I think I will pass on upgrading my 23 x3M40 for this mess, I’m not feeling it at all. I just Go with a GLC 43 AMG or a BMW M340 before they turn it into a plastic Tupperware. You can't even open the roof, the rear windows do not go all the way down, plastic everywhere, plastic door handles , no red interior, rear seats do not recline, I can go on and on. I really was looking forward to the new x3 ! This is trash!!! And I hate that glow kidney grille!!

@@Mr.Lambert777 yup I sat in one , 1) no tail pipes 2) no comfort access rear doors 3) c pillar is full plastic 4) no ambient light rear doors 5) no ambient light door pockets 6) dash door tops plastic or fabric 7) no leather air bag cover 8) no lock unlock for front passenger 9) foot rest and trunk scuff plates now in plastic. Buttons and door handles plastic. Lower dash full plastic 10) sunroof doesn’t open 11) no reclining rear seats 12) front seat head rests plastic.. basically huge downgrade from current model and lots of cost cutting
