70' Pole Top Club
Climbing the 70-footer is optional, but doing it will let you earn the "pole top club" sticker for your hard hat. Also, it will get you some amount of respect.

90' Lattice Tower Climb

This is a non-timed competency. We just have to go up and over twice to get marked off. For almost all of the students, this is the highest they've ever climbed in their lives so far, so this was nerve-racking, exciting, and fun all at the same time. When we climbed the second time, we all got to hang out for a bit at the top it was a great day.
Double Cross-arm Install and Remove (Practice)

This is a practice hence the laidback and slow-paced fashion. This double cross-arm install and removal is a timed competency (comp). You have 15 mins to climb up and install ONLY. You call time to the instructor when you think you're done, and all your square washers better be square and straight! (There are 10 of those by the way). Although the time has stopped, the comp does not end until th...

Make study groups with your buddies, pay attention in class, be honest and ask questions. Have a good attitude about everything. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t get something right away, you’re going to be thrown a lot of challenges, but you can do it. There’s so many resources at the school, mainly because they want you to be successful. Good luck, you’re going to love it here.

Good shit bro! But the nuts going on backwards

Thank you bro! I would agree with you, but in this particular situation, all of the nuts we have at the school have weird sharp corners on the flat sign that tend to bind when tightening against the coil washers, and the round edge seems to be a little smoother as you tighten down on it in this case. Any other situation I’d definitely put them flat side down for aesthetics. Thanks for the comment big dog.
