@GoaWay4Sanity Thanks for watchin! Looks like I was in G major, and I was noodling in the G scale in the right hand while playing simple chords in the left hand. I'm not an organ player by any means 🤣 A few of my favorite things that I did here was walking chromatically from the 1 to the 2 (0:12), the 4 minor chord (0:20). Somehow made it to F Major, where I have the progression 4 --> 4#dim --> 5 (0:45)

@lonophonic117 Thanks so much for the kind words!! I love meditating on these progressions and resonating with motifs - I can play like this for hours! If you look at the older videos on my channel, I did this type of playing by a beautiful dock and lagoon - sunrise and sunset meditation. I hope you enjoy!

This method is actually seen a lot among organ players in the gospel setting - but they have softer keys rather than piano action! We joke about hurting ourselves doing this time and time again 🤣. I actually showed my piano teacher this and she hadn't seen it before either!

@struong57 I agree! Another major factor of band cohesiveness is knowing how every member of the team plays and always being mindful to complement what everyone else is doing. I've been learning over the past few weeks to communicate with the other musicians ahead of time to make this process even better. Thanks for the comment Steve! 🙌

@teamrickq7733 Me too! I use it the most out of all the grands. It's very balanced throughout the entire range of the keyboard. Can't beat that Steinway quality!

Everything I've learned about the concept of a drone pad comes from my keys mentor at church, but I don't know if I should make the video about how to make a drone pad in general, or about ideas and strategies to think about when making a drone pad that has good movement while not being too intrusive... 🤔

Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed! It may be difficult to see, but the keyboard is a Nord Stage 4. I'm demo-ing a new sound from their piano library, the Soft Grand. If you're referring to the synth sound at the end, I'm not sure. Those were actually sampled from either a hardware synth or VST synth by Benjamin Berghahn and uploaded to the Nord User Forum for all the Nord owners to download for free: www.norduserforum.com/nord-user-samples-nsmp-nsmp3-nsmp4-files-f14/worship-pads-t21323.html They are really big and ambient and have quite a bit of movement compared to normal synth pads, which I really like. I layered 3 of them together and assigned the mod wheel to control the filter envelope on all of them.

I actually used the Sunday Keys app for this one! It's a standalone app that I captured, along with the webcam feed, using OBS on the laptop. In this set, I layered the SK Felt and SK Grand with various pad sounds in the app. The whole set was played live with no edits!
