      I guess you are right, to my defense, the mesh thing is on top of the filter, not on the bottom side of the filter closest to the motor. So to get glue in to the engine it has to "travle" through the filter, which it wont do. But you're right, skip the mesh thing!

This is how it is: You have the upper yoke fork clamp bolt (one bolt), that was the only bolt i took off. Then you also have a bottom yoke fork clamp with two bolts (don't touch these, I never did). If it all slides down it means that the bottom yoke fork clamp was not torked and screwed to right spec! Removing just the upper one should not affect the forks what so ever.

    I have both a r1200rt and fjr1300. Had the bmw 3 years before the yami. The bmw has such a sweet and smooth suspension. It also has a lower center of gravity. This makes the ride very easy... Especially in tight, slow speed conditions. The bmw also has much more sturdy components - handlebar controls/switches are much better quality. HOWEVER, Yamis don't leave you stranded on highways. The bmw rear final drive blew after 35k miles. It took $7k to get her home and running again! Sooo, I don't trust her any more. I only take the bmw on short rides and I now take only the fjr across country!

    Got 1400 on my. This is my dirt capable ADV purchase (modified Rally 300 is the more dirt machine). Short final gearing is a miss on CFMOTOs part. Yes, i have 15t up front, it's better, but it's a compromise. The gear box is ok. It's not great, however. Finding neutral takes little skill, muscel memory. Really snatchy off idle fueling, cfmoto released update, it makes the bike way nicer. At 75 kgs (street clothing), the front springs are on a stiff side. Ye, backed out preload all the way. Most fasceners are tightened to "max" torqu. This seems to be a Chinese thing (my CFMOTO Papio is the same way). When taking off the skid plate, the lower support bars spring out good 2 cm. A strap is required to bring them in before you can re install the paper thin, metal skid plate. Yes, the exhaust is on the loud side. It is a great bike, all the little features add up. Lets see how it will hold up to kms.

      You could easily lower it to 800 mm without changing to a different seat. I think it's more important to tell a potential custommer the lowest seat height possible than to tell how it's set up for most people. But you're right about the ABS/TCS, my bad for that!

    I have one and have been riding about 2000km. I love it and it works fine so far. Suspension is very good, but factory setting is a bit hard for onroad use so i had to soften it up for it to be comfortable. Gearingbox and gearing is a bit short so it gets very revy on the highway. I fixed that with a 15 tooth front sprocket and now it's perfect. RPM are just below 5000rpm at 90km/h. Throttle is a bit sensitive from closed to open just like every other bike with euro emission exhaust regulations. A good map takes care of that issue. Other then that the bike is really solid and feels WAY more premium then the price suggests.

    Wrong about the traction control. Both ABS and TCS are disconnected with the button. To disconnect one or the other individually requires using the menu.

      Why is it impossible to get them in Norway? They are at dealers and it's just to cough up the money and buy it. Doesn't sound impossible to me.

    In my Vulcan S manual it states that the air filter is a wet type. I've never changed it, we'll see.... :)

      Do you have the Vulcan S performance? Maybe it's a K&N or something similar?

    Why in the hell do you have to damn near dismantle the bike to change the filter?!?! Damn Kawasaki, make it where we can remove a side cover and slide it out!!

    Is it the raley for the turn signal?

    • @SamOnABikeSweden
      @SamOnABikeSweden 8 месяцев назад

      The relay is needed to be able to install accessories, such as a 12 volt socket, gear indicator, lamps, etc. For my own part, it was installed for the 12 volt socket that I installed after this. The relay makes some electrical cables (under the seat and also at the speedometer) work when the ignition is on and not to work when the ignition is off.

    Quite the surgical procedure! Those side panels are a pain to deal with, especially if its a bit cold out. Great video. Thank you.
