This group AKA TAKE 5.99 stayed together for about 2 academic quarters until Joey Kibble was "translated" to Take 6. This performance was shot at the "Jonathan Slocumb Show" in Indianapolis coinciding with the General Conference session back in 1990.

Joey Kibble was 19 yrs old and ahead of his time,but you expect that because he's Mark Kibble's brother. When Take 6 came out he was 16. Impressive ! Background sounds like Take 6. When you around bad ones you become one.

Mark's brother is 🔥. These guys can sing. I see why they choose him in Take 6 after Meryvn left( He was a very tough act to follow) .. but he held his own here. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 vocals!!!❤️❤️❤️
Well they were also considering Chris Willis, Russell Thomas (David Thomas' brother) and Brian McKnight. Joel couldn't really understand what made Take 6 choose him but he definitely had something they needed. At first his dad was totally against him leaving school to pursue a career with Take 6 but a meeting with Joel's teacher Dr. Harold Anthony, that conversation green light Joel to leave Oakwood to go on the road with Take 6. Joel does talk about this in several podcasts.
