I was a bit confused at 6:16 when you said that Tom Bombadil "uses" the ring. He puts it on, and he does a conjuring trick with it. It's just a shiny piece of metal to him.

That was a nice surprise to see your video pop up on my feed. You are very good at this, passionate, intelligent, with a touch of humour. I enjoy watching them very much, so thank you. Im glad you are enjoying Stephen King and that there are so many wonderful stories for you yet to discover. Even his novellas and short stories are great. The film of The Shining is worth watching, if you havent already, although i believe Mr. King was not happy with it. After seeing your Stephen King films its reminded me to maybe re-read some of his classics again as its been decades since i have. (Thats the trouble with having hundreds of books on a kindle, i never re-read anymore) I hope you read 'It', 'The Stand' full version, its only 1400 pages. But you could basically pick anything and im sure you will like it. Of his later works i really liked 'Fairy Tale' and i hope one day you get to know Holly Gibney, who is in a handful of his later works. I think he transcends all genres because he is such a storyteller. Maybe the best ever. I remember in 'The Institute' he managed to bring a tear to my eye with just one line about the little laddie in it. Best wishes to you and thank you 👍

Beautiful edition! I have a hardcover boxset my brother got me, with white background and painting type artwork. Some of my all-time favorite books. The audiobooks with Andy Serkis are amazing!

I still haven't braved the horror genre yet either! But I love thrillers so I feel I need to! Pet Sematary as a movie made me really emotional. I'm not sure I could brave this particular book... especially with how stressed you were!

Hi, just wanted to say i really enjoyed your video. Am very happy to subscribe. I am an avid reader and have only recently been using youtube from a book point of view. Its been well over 30 years since i read Pet Semetary but i remember enjoying it. I have read over 60 of Stephen kings works, think i started in the mid 80s ish. I would love to see you review "It". Its obviously an epic but is very, very good. I would also heartedly recommend his unabridged version of The Stand (which is about 1400 pages) Even his lesser well loved books are still better than a lot of authors best. HIs short story collections are fantastic as is his novella collections. Im also sure you will love his Holly Gibney character from his later works. She is a kind of supernatural private detective and she is great. I will look through your other videos, best wishes to you and happy Christmas 👍

The Scythe trilogy is by far my favorite books I’ve ever read. The second one is 10/5 stars for me

I read Pet Semitary in high school, it was great. I recently reread it as a parent and it's a totally different book. So much more compelling and emotional. It's one of his best. I think you'd love " cujo". Cujo is unlike the movie in the way that cujo isn't just a mindless killer, he has an inner voice that the movie does not convey. That voice makes you feel sorry for him bc he himself doesn't understand what is going on. Scary is a very subjective word. It doesn't mean you'll be terrified or afraid to me scary just means it's a book that's not all sweet and nice, there's a twist.

The LOTR books hit different. Excited for your journey through middle earth

Some of them haven’t been horror at all, but even the ones that were classified as horror in their labeling, I didn’t really feel like they were horror, suspense, maybe thriller, but at no point where they scary so far and some of them were definitely intended to be

I read Pet Sematary as one of my scary October reads and really enjoyed it. It's less about fright and more about grieving. It's a very heavy book and as one of his shorter books, it gets you there fast. If you like King and want to try one of his non-horror, he did a really good historical fiction/magical realism book called 11/22/63 about a man who travels back in time to try and prevent the JFK Assassination. It's a little long, but well worth it. Currently sitting as my second favorite book of all time behind Les Misérables.

You've found the beauty of King's writing, and the reason he has remained so popular. He's got this way of adding horror and suspense elements that are not super over the top. It mainly upsetting, but in a way that really stays with you. For instance, I read Carrie a few months ago, and have reads five or six books since, and still find myself thinking back to elements of that book. I recommend 11/22/63 to everyone who is getting into King...it one of my 10 favorite books of all time.
