Fixing ingot molds & Casting Stars, Hearts, Skulls, and Crosses #asmr #melting #casting
Happy Friday everyone. Today I'm going to restore my ingot molds. They have been getting more difficult to get out for a little while. So I wanted to fix them. And also my family got me some new molds for father Day. so I definitely want to try those out. As you will see, they turn out to be a lot more difficult than I thought.
I will have to practice a lot with pouring them. They're small, so controlling the flow is a bit more difficult. But overall I think they turned out good. Unfortunately I ran out of time so I didn't get to clean them all up. I will make sure to do that in my next video.
I'm getting close to 1000 subscribers. If you haven't subscribed yet, consider helping me out. T...

Casting bullets - Gunmetal Alloy - #asmr #melting #meltingmetal #trashtotreasure

Good morning everyone. I had a couple of ideas for this video that just didn't work out. But I came up with an idea that did. I recently found out that "Gunmetal" is an alloy. I always thought it was just a finish. So I decided to try and make some. I'm really happy with the results. You will have to let me know your thoughts on it. Although I didn't have every grit I needed, I still was able t...
Melting Aluminum Cans - ASMR - Aluminum #asmr #melting #trashtotreasure #satisfying #aluminum

So I haven't done an aluminum can melt yet. I've been saving all my cans for awhile. I use a trash can. Every time the trash can gets full, I smash all the cans down. My goal was to wait until I had an entire trash can full of crushed cans. Well... I finally filled it up. This did take a long time to melt. I also counted how many cans it takes to fill up my crucible with melted aluminum. I was ...

Good morning and happy Friday everyone. Today I scrap down an old school tube TV. And add a few things along the way. These old TV's used to be a great source for copper for anyone looking to recycle. I test the idea of how much copper is actually in one of these TV's. The final result - Let's just say I wasn't too happy with it. I like doing bigger melts, Even tho it's not always gonna happen....

    So KEEP COPPER AWAY FROM IRON MOLDS! When extracting copper out of solution IT BONDS TO IRON. So copper has a VERY CLINGY AFFECTION with iron. 😊 If you use iron mold put grafite power in first when pouring copper. Small crucible 4 small molds. 😎 I LOVE watching new scrappers because it HOPEFULLY keeps me from making same mistakes. 💖 from Minnesota

    This is excellent! a couple things to note: 1)The moisture content of Casting sand is paramount so keep it close to spec (you can use a Moisture meter for this) 2) also keeping sand Clean and uniform creates better molds Hope this helps.

  • @OuroborosArmory
    @OuroborosArmory 29 дней назад

    You would be better off glueing a bunch of bullets to sticks and then to a pice of wood and ram it all together in one go. Each time you push into the sand you will distort the other holes and basically ruin them. Also the oil based casting sand isnt great for copper as it gets to hot, your better off with a water sand mixture, as it wont burn.. and pour a lot hotter, so it pours better..

    I think the number one goal for any bullet is accuracy. Nice looking bullets. I cast for my .357 magnum rifle. The most accurate bullet I cast is a Lee C358-200-RF. These bullets are the correct diameter, but can be a bit too long loaded into .357 cases and are likely to jam in a lever rifle. My rifle is a single shot so it isn't a problem. The Lee 358-125-RF shoots fairly well for me at both slow and fast velocities... I've pushed them up to around 1500 fps lubed with Lee Liquid Alox. I never got the accuracy I desired from the Lee SWC bullets, but I prefer to shoot at slower speeds and I probably would have achieved better groups at faster velocities. I have stopped bothering about adding tin or antimony to my lead. I like to feel free to use whatever scrap I can find. I mostly shoot these bullets just under the speed of sound. I do my casting in an outside shed with the door kept open for ventilation, and lately I've been wearing a fine particle mask to avoid inhaling the dust created by the slag. I wear leather gloves when casting, and I avoid hitting the mould to release the bullets. Sometimes they fall out when I simply shake the mould, sometimes I push them with a gloved finger. I would not eat or drink anywhere near the area where I cast. In addition to my Lee moulds, I have some made by Cast Bullet Engineering in Australia which are very good. I have two CBE semiwadcutter moulds that I like... one is a 210 grain and the other is a 140 grain. I have to size both of these to get them into case more easily. If I had to pick just one of my CBE moulds, it would currently be the CBE358-180-RFBB which casts bullets with a bevel base which makes reloading a lot easier. These seem to be the most accurate of my CBE bullets over a range of speeds and when lubed with either a home-brewed wax lube or the very convenient Lee Alox. Best wishes from New Zealand.
