    Great review, again. I don't know many/any reviewers who go through with the same level of detail and observations based on actually using it. I had lots of questions and all were answered. Kudos. Thanks for showing the rain pole. As far as I know, only AluCab and an obscure German awning have this, and its good to see Ironman adding features like that, which makes the lack of zipper on the walls super frustrating. I agree, a miss, and one that has me re-evaluating whether to buy the 270. 2 weeks ago I bought the Ironman awning room to hang underneath my ARB awning and used it with cot and sleeping bag for 3 nights across the Cascades and BC mountains. Brilliant piece of kit. Zips and clips in. I was planning on adding a 270 awning partly because the wall kit was so reasonable in price and indeed looks like the same quality as the awning room. I'd like to sleep under the 270 awning but you are right, many large gaps for wind. Darche is the only company I know with a 180/270 awning that you can hang a room underneath (Retreat Annexe). I can kinda work with a difficult to access window cover, but the velcro seems a mistake because of the lateral ripoff strength, especially in winds. The workaround I would use are strong steel spring clips/clamps on open tops and corners but I'd much prefer a zip for the reasons you gave. Given that the wall kit is half the price of the Batwing, it could stand a small increase in price for zips. For storage/transit, I bought a drysack and rolled the room into a longer thinner shape and stored on the roof rack. Soft bags are easy to cinch down and secure and it's bulky and light - ideal for higher up. I'll have a look at the Batwing compact awning again (I really like the feet you can peg down) but Ironman 270 looks like a great awning, perhaps good enough to put up with the wall kit. Thanks again for the review.

    Do you know what models these gears cover? I have a 1994 Aristo

    • @gamiviti4828
      @gamiviti4828 9 часов назад

      you can pull your seat apart to inspect the gear, if what you have looks like the same then there's a good chance these will fit. They fit multiple vehicles from the 1994 era so good chance you're in luck here. And of course if you purchase the gears then discover they are different you can send them back.

    Great review by the way, thank you for showing, whomever supplied you with the wiring kit, gave you the 180 awning wire kit as the 270 kit the leads all equal and short length apart. Also I 100% agree with your input that the legs should have holes or hoops for ground pegs to go into. I will pass this on to R&D team at global head office see what they say.

    The two-plate design is nice. Nice job! Going to read a bit more but this plate looks like it may be what I'm looking for. Didn't like having to drill into the wood trim like some of the other options out there.

      @gamiviti4828 4 дня назад

      very cool, thanks for watching and yes that was the idea- no drill, easy to revert back. the two-plate design means there's some freedom in the shape of the top plate, right now it's doing the job holding up a few accessories but could evolve over time if there becomes a driving need to do so. hit us up with any other questions thanks again

    Hi! Really appreciate your videos… I really want a heavier 180 awning about 50-60lb and I have three of the multi brackets for my OEM. In your opinion, do you think that’s too heavy or is that still within acceptable weight?

    • @gamiviti4828
      @gamiviti4828 15 дней назад

      that's likely going to be fine... that weight isn't much different from a Batwing awning which the multi brackets are known to support. Just pay attention, monitor it, etc. so you don't get any surprises.

    Hey kit worked great but for some reason I can’t put the seat back in the truck. The bolts do not align correctly. What can I possibly be doing wrong ? Ps great video

    • @gamiviti4828
      @gamiviti4828 Месяц назад

      Yes this is fairly common.. you want to open up those holes in the seat bracket a little bit with either a step drill or file, enough so that the bolts can pass through. Otherwise if you bolt the seat down by forcing the bracket to align with the holes, the whole thing will be bound up and won't slide very well.

    A ton of options, exactly what the industry needs. That said I am running the Yakima Aerobars on the Skyline Towers. It runs everything I put on top of my truck topper (ARE), with one exception. When camping I want to be able to access the back of my pickup truck bed, meaning that will be my sleep area. The issue I have encountered is mounting the awning to the back of my truck. I travel with the awning attached to the side and use it there, but want the option to mount it on the back of the truck (stationary only - not traveling with it across the back). I am running the ARB 2500 x 2500, Touring Aluminum Housed Awning with Deluxe Awning Room. Since I have the Yakima rails and skyline towers already installed, and using the aerobar crossbars, what bracket system would you have to mount my awning on the side for travel, and be able to use my ARB Quick disconnect brackets to move the awning to rear of the truck for mounting and use while camping and fishing for several days or use at the beach, etc.?

    • @gamiviti4828
      @gamiviti4828 2 месяца назад

      hi there, thanks for watching! Easiest way to solve this would be to replace those Aero Bars with some simple extrusion cross bars... www.gamiviti.com/cross-bars that would allow you to run our rack receivers on the side using the adapter plates, and run another set of rack receivers across the back, bolted sideways. Your awning would then be able to mount in either location. it might also be possible to drill through those aero bars to add the backing plates, and/or rack receivers, then bolt them through what you already have.

    • @gamiviti4828

      Yes. usually requires you to lower the door to swing it out, then raise the door again up into it. this is worse with 4Runners, a little less worse on split tailgates, but totally doable. Also the flexibility of the Batwing works to your advantage here, compared to more rigid awnings like OVS.
