Thnk you fron Spain
Those trails are beautiful
DON’T BUY THIS BIKE. I GOT ONE AND THEY DON’T SUPPORT YOU AFTER IT’S SOLD
Beginner bike i cracked my wrist only my third ride and lower i had to get the shocks lowered and forks because i got E.T legs😂 butt still i love it mines a 2015 plate
Wow why does Beta build bikes like my 25 year old broken kenmore washing machine plastic gears in transmission, the swisher doesn't spin engage anymore, same issue.
Better than a DR350 is a DR350SE... and i have one!!! 😁
I love my 250 xc-w 2-stroke but my lungs don't like the fumes anymore, electric is so clean and quiet.
I bought one of these from the local dealer, A&M Moto Toys in Monument Colorado and I really like it so far! I have a number of full size gas bikes but this is a whole different experience. It is super light in motion and surprisingly powerful. Mode 1 and 2 are plenty for me in almost any circumstance. Mode 3 is like a Ludicrous mode. I do need to put bar risers on it because I am 6'. I think the suspension is better than expected. I reduced the rebound damping in the fork 7 clicks from standard and that allows the front end to hold up much better and it is now much more supple. The range and power capabilities are so much better than any comparable electric motorcycle out there at this time and having the 18/21 wheels is great. I am very excited and can't wait to spend some more time on the machine!
Got my eye on a 91 dr350s. Doesn't have any upgrades, but seems to be in good working order all things considered. The guy is asking $1200 for it. I feel like I'd be a fool to pass that up, even if it doesn't have some of the perks of the later models like electric start and better suspension. Another consideration is an xr400 that's all kitted out, and is lowered some. Without it being lowered I don't think I could consider it. Seller wants 2k for the xr. Guess I can't go wrong with either?
Well it depends if you are a newer rider or not and what your plans are to ride. I love love my DR350 for the money but she is still a heavy dual sport for somethings. That can be detrimental if you are trying to do more trail type riding. Objectively the XR is a much better dirt bike and a lot lighter. That all said the DR is a lot easier to start once its jetted properly. Both bikes do have a process for starting and it can get frustrating at times. Both are good bikes at the price point.
@pharettface I'm brand spanking new to bikes, that is if you don't count putting around on homemade motorized contraptions when I was a kid. I've definitely noticed that plenty of trail bikes are considerably lighter, but I really love the duel sport aspect and not having yo trailer the bike to get it where I want to ride. If this were me 10 years ago I'm sure I'd say I planned to use it for the gnarliest trails I could find, but over the years I've mellowed a bit and I think I'd be perfectly satisfied chugging along some scenic fire road or mild ATV trail. In which case, despite the weight difference maybe the DR would be ok after all.
@@rachelgardner6966 You can plate most trail bikes but budget always comes into play in these things. IMO the best DS/dirt worth machine is something like a Beta 390 RRS. Street legal and quite capable. As your skills improve, and they sure will, you'll find yourself wanting to do harder trails. The DR will do it no doubt, I've had the old girl down some of the hardest Colorado has to offer but it goes a long way to have a lighter bike for sure. We all go through different bikes over time for our changing needs so I'd say go ahead and get the DR learn it have fun!
Have you ridden one with the Tech suspension? I see that as an option everywhere you can buy one, but haven't heard of anyone riding it.
I have not on the Arctic Leopard but we have had good luck with their suspension stuff on other E motos. We have yet to have anyone opt for the extra cost on suspension. Maybe we will on our next demo bike. That said I have been pretty happy with the stock suspension.
Do you feel it more like a dirtbike or kind of big electric mountain bike.
Way more of a dirt bike for sure
@@pharettface i am riding a stark varg, but have some 1h30 race that the bike can’t make. I was considering the ex800 because of the range, but i have seen some flows on different videos. The chain popping out, the rear brake issue, shock issue, maybe forks too.
@@mxriderdakar The chain issue was my business partner lol. That issue was more than likely us. It has stretch through racing it and probably wasn't adjusted. The shock has been updated by AL. The rear brake is kinda meh but really it's a lot better than most E motos. Forks are harsh but manageable if your a faster rider. Idk people complain about them but I really don't think they are any stiffer than my DLC KYBs on the Rieju. Overall it's a good bike but its not perfect of course, no bike is.
I like the betas
They buy them to illuminate competition .
You can get a gas gas it’s a rieju now
Yeah I am riding one...
You can get a gas gas it’s a rieju now.
Hi there, just a random question, where did you get the tail tidy from.
No idea it came with the bike
Can you please update what was the final solution for installing the radiator fan? 🙏
I just got the right bolts and screwed it on
Which 3" risers are you using? I'm ordering one and know off the bat I need to rise the bars
Hmm They are just generic bar risers off Amazon. I think they were around $13.
@ awesome thanks. Wasn’t sure if they’d be compatible
It's funny, you start out talking about whether or not you should keep and toward the end you're talking about getting an e-start model. Clearly you're keeping it and clearly it's the right choice. I've got an estart and looking at getting a kicker. Rock on.
And kept it I have
I’m 5’7. Bikes big lol comparing it to my talaria x3 makes me giggle
Time for a real dirt bike!
My XXX rips the shit out of the mountains. Not a horse power game out there. 140 lbs with 21/16 wheels, a mountain bike on steroids! This A.L. looks super dope however. 25kw and comes with a 21" front wheel? Looks better than the Eride SR, just alot more money.
@@talldug7612 mode 3 is like what the fuck was that. It’s like experience sport mode for the first time everytime lol
Experiencing*
Ah, single track on a kickstart-only thumper. Nothing with humble you faster
So true
Kinda like the fat kid in a sprinkler that one time
I'm stealing your line "like a fat kid on singletrack"!
Very helpful review. Do the EX800s have direct drive, or a primary belt, like an Ultra Bee? Thanks
Direct drive
I got the ex800 about 2 months ago and i love the bike . You said you got 3 inch risers any chance you could send me a link to those ? Thanks
just buy a proper bike, you`ll enjoy the sport a lot more... I know is a financial effort but is worth it.
I mean I'd say the DR350 is a proper bike for dual sporting. I own several two strokes and even electrics. All are fun.
Literally just got done riding my Dr350, and now I see this vid pop up. It's like Christmas!
Even though your video is a year old, your review helped me decide to buy one over a KTM/Husky/Beta etc., I really don’t like fuel injection on a 2 stroke or the lack of a kickstarter which creates reliability issues. You really explained things well compared to other Rieju videos. Happy trails from Colorado.
she needs my eride 18/21 ...gas sucks
I sell E Ride and no one would rock one on this stuff even with 18/21s. She usually rocks an EX800 too but we still love our two strokes nothing sucks about either.
No thank you, I love my 3 honey and the EX800
Had a DR600s. Always started easily if you used the decompression correct. I would much rather have had a DR350s. Instead I bought DR800... 350 is the sweet spot.
I’m thinking this is my next bike. Had the surron x. Have the talaria xxx(surprisingly phenomenal) just about 8000 miles wheels run true still. All original everything. Needs a better rear brake but you can never not have better brakes. I just want out from the jack shaft and belt. I like Arctic and their set up
They are awesome bikes and they just dropped the price
Well I bought it
That’s where we are now. The wait game.
It’s here. lol. Anyway you can do a video on how the wires are supposed to connect and what’s what? There’s two identical so idk what to do. Batteries here on Monday
You caught my attention with the 8K msrp.. I purchased mine 2 months ago at full price. Your review is dead on. Needs a better 2- piston rear break, kickstand is a joke, rear shock is impossible to adjust without taking off plastics, Fardriver app is extremely difficult to figure out, I'd really like to set my engine braking/regen. I happened to weigh the bike, definitely not 180#, but still 20# lighter than my modded Ultra. Great review.
What was the weight of your bike?
@@peterrockne223 204# I added heavy 3mil tubes and Acerbis hand guards.. doubt that's 20#. I'm going to weigh again with pics or video.
I’m gonna be ordering a couple of these with the tech suspension directly from china. Have you put a bar riser on yours? The guy in this video did but didn’t say which one fit. I’ve test ridden one and the bars are definitely too low.
@@anotherguywithaflyingcamer6193 I just purchased Renthal bars about 1/2" taller. I'm short, don't bother me. Bigger issue was Acerbis hand guards don't fit on stock bars.
a new bike comes out every week ...all i want in my next bike is range
Hey, how do you do a rental service, but keep theft down, have you ever had issues? I do R&D/Testing for ebikes, so end up with a lot,& to keep selling them seems stupid when I'm in Reno, a tourist city & could rent yearly to Burning Man attendees, who's already the biggest buyer of bikes from me, thanks. Sorry if the question sounds stupid, but I'm not the most business saavy, but definitely passionate about learning.
I use Friend With A. they have awesome insurance
This video needs WAY more views!! I AGREED 500% with everything that was said in this video. The Talaria Boys recently reviewed this bike off-road and the conclusions as to its overall comfort and ride quality offroad, as well as range, build quality etc were surprisingly pretty much a *Carbon Copy” of yours. I think Throne really came out with something special here. Thanks for the honest review! 👊🔥😈👍🙌
You have access to fantastic trails!
I’m here in Rhode Island like. I don’t got much public offroad.m but the roads are bad enough sometimes it’s like the same thing. I ordered my ex800. Now waiting on shipping! What’s some day 1 set up advice for it?
@@hollowedentity7097 CT, MA, and Maine all have decent trails you should be able to find something not too far from you.
What trail was this?
I wish you had removed that front fender toolbag. Then would have been apples to apples.
what is the material for the 2023 390 RR oil pump gears?
They are the same nylon gears I believe
Best trail bike I have ridden is the new air cooled Honda 250 with ful injection. What a sweet motor. I prefer trail bikes to high strung 250 enduro bikes. DRZ's are too clunky for narrow stuff.
The owner's manual says a lot about Beta as a company. You get an actual book instead of a worthless little pamphlet. Great info on the road riding too, great to hear it is stable and not buzzy on the road. I've been looking at getting one of these for a while and that's been one of my biggest questions!
Didn’t swamp my bike but I gave it a wash and then started it directly afterwards. The air filter may have been wet. Will this damage the bike?
Probably not the best thing to do but its more than likely fine
what settings did you do for the front suspension? i took mine on the TAT a couple years back and it would wash out in sand and really loose dirt, did fine in gravel.
"140 lbs that's not a real man size" You're not a real man unless you're at risk for diabetes! 💪💀
Stand on the pegs
Yes Daddy
I had a ktm excf250 from new, it dod less than 2k mls and the engine seized due to that pathetic plastic cog on the oil pump. Less than 2yr old also. NEVER will I touch a ktm again, and yes I did maintain it 100%
Most Euros do that. I had it happen on my Beta 390 had its plastic pump gears fail after 200 hours. Was my fault though service interval is 90 hours. Swapping to steel gears is easy enough though
Man .. I absolutely love your Colorado trails. ❤ Great footage 👏 👍 👌
Some useful tips - thanks. I just pulled the airbox and am set to dig deeper to get at that front CCT on my '04 project. Think maybe you're referring to Kev's Shed for the video on step-by-step replacement. His content is pretty solid.
It's always the same story with great spanish brands, they get bought by other big brands and they eventually get killed off. Gasgas just seems to me that it is going into that direction Derbi was one of these brands, they made some incredible small cc bikes both for the track and the road while winning several world cups in the small cc categories, one of them being Marc Marquez on 2010 with their 2 stroke 125 but they got killed off by Piaggio because their 50ccs couldn't pass the Euro 5 emissions test
It looks like you are riding your MR pro a year ago you did 100 hour reliability review. Can we get an update. Anything you’ve done or replaced how many hours do you have on it?
Sure. It's been on my list of things to do. She's well over 200 hours now. Same top end no issues what so ever. Only thing is a leaking countershaft seal.
