Pink cheeks dont last long in the nt outdoors lol, but have a go then lol fun fact
Thanks for the honest review, what would you recommend for similar size/dimension and weight? I’m looking to surprise myself 😉
No dramas at all. Honestly I can't personally recommend anything else in that size/weight range. We're looking at the Bushcompany RTT range.
Missus is a bit soft for the wet season ..😂lol. That’s alright, can’t please everyone.
Mango Madness can get to the best of 'em 😂
Been to darwin in the dry and wet ...love both ...i get things get shut down in the wet ...the wet is just a part of the cycle and awesome...last time i was there the wet "broke" on NYE ... beautiful place ... great people .,awesome country
It’s a wild ride when it comes to the weather up there, but we always love it. 🍻 Thanks for watching.
Glad you got the new motor fitted. Ultra tune did the job probably no one else wanted the job. Changed engine number on line with NT aurthorities How many k's had the old motor done? You have the toyota from new?
Ultra Tune Rockingham were excellent to deal with. Old motor had 417,000km on the clock and I bought the cruiser when it was four years old with 100,000km on the clock.
How did ya come up with your YT name?
The number plate on the cruiser was always Rambler and we do love a beer or twenty 🍻
you guys are so adorable💕 love this video.
Thanks and thanks for watching ☺️
Cost?
It was a costly experience but it was worth every cent. All of their prices are on their website.
Saw your video! Great stuff! Interesting!
Thanks for watching!
Wow!! Amazing Views. Great video. Thank you for sharing. Subbed & 👍77
Thanks mate appreciate it 🍻
Good to see ya back on the tube. Looking forward to more vids.
Thanks, its great to be back 🍻
Great to see you guys back, hope to see heaps more content.❤
Glad to be back. Probably won't be weekly like last year but hopefully one or two a month. Thanks for watching 🍻
Hi ya what happened to the 4x4 sold it of for the next big thing
G’day mate, still got the cruiser. Just chose the modern convenience and fuel economy for this day trip 😆
Been to Darwin once & absolutely fell in love with the place cheers for the video 🤙
No worries, thanks for watching. Plenty more to come 🍻
Enjoying your travels and the way you present them...quick question can you tell me what type of drone are you using Regards Ferg
Thanks mate, appreciate it 🍻 We're using the DJI Mini 3.
Yeldulknie Weir area is great. Head up the Cleve / Mangalo Road to a terrific weed-free bush walk following a creek line to magnificent grranite rock formation ... if raining ... a waterfall worth seeing.
Thanks for the tip, I’ll remember that one for next times such a beautiful region. Thanks for watching 🍻
U stayed at 8 mile beach in Whyalla
That sounds about right from memory. Beautiful spot and super close to town 👌🏻
Good to see an honest review 👍 thank you 😊
No dramas at all. It's the review I wish someone had made before I bought one.
Good review! Think I may have dodged a bullet…at my price range and weight 23Zero is looking like a good option
Good choice!
mate it was until I sat in it today and realized its WAY to small at 6' tall. Pretty surprised actually! @@thirsty.ramblers
Going in May 2024. Can't Wait! to see those little guppies 🦈 🦈 🦈
It's an amazing day, you'll love it!!
Maybe you can try out SAN HIMA rtt😏
Their range of tents look nearly identical to Darche's. Think I'll steer clear of them. I'm liking the bush company RTT's as they have a checker plate top so less prone to sun damage.
So glad to see you’re going to be putting out more videos - we really missed you guys these last few months! Happy new year! Can’t wait for the next video 😊
Thanks, we've missed getting out camping and filming too. Just gonna be some day trips until our dry season kicks in up here.
Good review, mate 👍
Thanks mate 🍻
Thanks for the footage and kind words, this area has been our home for 52 years now and yes the sunsets are amazing almost as much as the area its self , we enjoy your big lap series , Thank you .
Thanks for watching. Such a beautiful part of Australia to call home. It's definitely somewhere we want to revisit, feels like we only got a taste of what's on offer.
Great review mate, glad you guys are back 🍻
Thanks mate 🍻
Welcome back. We thought you might have finished your trip, and just gone home. All roof top tents have their problems. Bedding storage, Mattress comfort, The width of bed, condensation, leaking around the seals, leaking zips, canvas quality, even the weight of the unit can be a problem. Safe Travels.
Thanks mate, should have some new stuff soon.
Aftermy 81 years i have never found a plastic that lasts in the sun none of the patio furniture last no matter the price 2 convertibles cars bothe plastic windows went tp s---t . plastic is just committing suicide in the sun.
Very true, I'll never use a plastic based item for a vehicle again. Thanks for watching 🍻
Glad to see you back ☺️
Thanks, it's been too long. Should have some more stuff out soon 🤞🏻
With the skylights i had an ezytrail camper that had the funky plastic skylights and same they all cracked its a shit idea and cant believe Darche are stupid enough these days to do it stay well clear of amything with these plastic so called skylights Out
Not wrong mate, something you thing this sort of industry would have learnt by now.
I’ve had PVC plastic windows on my Zempire tent for 10 years. Granted it’s only use 1-2 times a year but it’s never cracked or shown that kind of damage…I think it’s a good idea to for the star gazing, perhaps Darche’s let themselves down on quality and manufacturing
darche suck tho
Thanks for the review mate. I was looking at getting one, but I think I'm leaning more towards the Bush Company RTT. Cheers 🤙🤙
That's what I'm also looking at getting. The warranty was pretty straight forward. Through the Darche website, submit proof of purchase, select the product, write down the issues and upload photos. Had to chase them up a couple of times over the phone to get the ball rolling but once the claim was accepted they sent a courier to collect the old. One they had it they sent out the new one.
Loved the vid - what month were you there
Thanks, we were there around early April
Hey Guys hope all is well, missing your videos and great commentary. Let us know. Regards Coll and Berni
Hey Coll and Bernie, thanks so much for reaching out. We've finished our lap and gone back to work in Darwin. Wet season up here at the moment so the videos have dropped off but we should have some new stuff soon, followed by plenty more come the dry season. 🍻
How many km did the old one have
417,000
SOO good!!
Thanks 🍻
Great stories from the road guys! Love the ducks and the pelicans and emus. 💌
Courtney's obsession with ducks 😂
Guys what’s up where have you been haven’t seen much lately keep the videos coming time to get thirsty cheers
G'dat Robert, our videos are always a few weeks behind our physical travels. Our lap of Aus has just finished and we've been busy settling back into a new house etc New videos are definitely on the way and plenty of exciting videos from our life in the NT will follow 🍻
amazing
Thank you! Cheers!
Great episode guys. You were brave to cross the Pentecost that day mate and the drone footage of the crossings was epic. 22:22 🤣🤣That made me laugh
Thanks mate, appreciate it. I had to check what 22:22 was 😂 cattle are everywhere up there in the afternoons and morning
Great vid guys loved the commentary, admired your patience and honesty.
Thanks for watching mate, glad you enjoyed it
Who runs it ? Shit
Another 400 thousand, its a good plan
fingers crossed mate 🍻
Hey ya I interested in the roof top thing I’ve got a duel cab Navara do you recon it will fit and it’s got a tub with a plastic canopy
G'day mate, Yeah aslong as you have some sort of roof rack or roof bars on your setup you'll be able to mount one. Just need to make sure that it can handle the weight.
Fantastic episode guys, just catching up on some older posts from before I submitted Now another thing to add to my bucket list 😂😂
Thanks mate, it is definitely an experience to add to the bucket list. Thanks for watching and checking out the older videos 🍻
Amazing footage guys ….loved it.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching 🍻
The other one is Friday's burgers, how big is the fxxking burgers
Friday Burger night was booked out for about a month straight whilst we were there so we missed out unfortunately. Heard nothing but good reviews about the burgers though 🍻
This was once a cattle station all the way down to mill stream
Well guys that was a top video enjoyed it very much
Good luck you 2 ll the best .Happy trails
Thanks mate!
Expensive thirsty and boring as batshit 4WD
Hey mate. Great to see you out there doin’ it. Done that trip a couple of times, when we was young and then with the kids, bloody great. I would really like to know a bit more about your vehicle. Did you buy new or secondhand? If it was secondhand how many kilometres did it have when you bought it? Do you know the ownership history and what the vehicle was used for before you had it? What year is it? The reason I ask is that I’ve rebuilt a number of 1VDs, mostly mining contractor vehicles. There’s been a common thread as to why they have failed…. AND very importantly what you should be doing to protect your new engine.
G'day mate, Thanks for watching. I purchased the vehicle second hand in 2015. It's a 2011 model and had 100,000 on the clock. It was a rural fire service vehicle in the Darwin region before I owned it. It's been incredibly reliable up until this incident. We also don't know exactly what caused it as it would have just cost us more money in labour to continue stripping down the old engine to find out.
Hey guys just found your channel and looking forward to watching more of your videos. I feel your pain I blew my Troopy up last year with the exact same story, started with a tick then ended with a knock and complete loss of power. I’m desperately trying to save hard to put a new motor in and like you I want to go new as I want to get the most out of it and don’t want issues down the track with a rebuilt or second hand motor that I don’t know the history of. Have been off the road for around 16 months now and starting to really miss being on the road and camping 😢
Thanks for watching mate. There's nothing worse, I couldn't begin to image how much that must suck having to wait so long to try and get back on road. Definitely worth saving up for the brand new motor though.
How many kms was on the original engine?
420,000
Such a heart braking sight. Following a day on Stockton Beach 14 odd years ago in my Musso Auto Ute, the over reving of my engine I belive was the starting point for it to finaly blow later that year. Everyone paid out on the SsangYone as having an inferior Merc diesel engine, well there are reasons why many diesel engings are rev limited, so apart from the salt water, the risk of constant over reving is he reason I've never taken another 4wd on the beach, especially my 2012 GU Patrol Ute weighing in at 3.5T . . . the main risk that puts me off visiting Fraser Island.
Sand and heavy vehicles aren’t always a good mix. Definitely not gonna let it stop us from visiting beaches but we’ll definitely be more cautious
Hire one mate... I'd never do that to my own troopy, but a hire car....
