COLOURED MENTALITY
Kelly and Sarah are a lesbian couple, trying to figure out their own complex identity as ‘coloured’ 20-somethings in Cape Town.
This 6 part webseries documents our preparations for the 1000km journey we will be WALKING from the Eastern Cape to the Castle in Cape Town, South Africa. It’s an annual liberation walk that a group of Khoi Activists to reclaim their indignenous rights, reconnect with the original way and correct the post-traumatic stress disorder imbued in the blood of the colonized peoples.
We are on a spiritual and political quest to investigate our ancestry and identity. We journey to reconnect with Khoi culture, confront our own privileges, heal our own mental illnesses and then figure out how to merge all of this into our young, urban lifestyles.
