Learning to sail RYA Competent Crew Course in Lagos Portugal - Day 2
In this second part of my RYA Competent Crew Course in the Algarve, we dive deeper into understanding wind direction and sail mechanics. We practice dropping anchor, furling and flaking the sails, and sail eastward toward the beautiful town of Portimão. Along the way, we learn about vessel hierarchy and right of way-lessons we put to the test when an oncoming fishing trawler shows no sign of giving way!
