This is one of my favorite of Tom's. I love the way he spoofs wild west tall tales and folklore ("he grew 18 arms that day as a gift from Vishnu" is an AMAZING line) and then the unexpected really earnest story about him and his daughter. Like, I got legitimately emotionally invested the first time I saw Joe be too slow to save his wife. He puts his all into the music and video to show off the impact of that moment, even though it's still comedic. And it's an absolute bop.

My gamertag was inspired by this song. Tom Cardy is easily one of my favorite artists, he's a fellow dork and I admire him for it.

If you want more Tom Cardy recommendations, I Don't Work Here is AMAZING. Hilarious, and goes places you could NEVER predict. For other youtubers, Brian David Gilbert also makes comedy music (you saw him in Beautiful Mind.) The videos are usually shorter and "quirky," but there's some VERY good ones. I really like Give Up On Your Dreams of Becoming a Baker.

It's so fun to see somebody reacting to these underappreciated Tom Cardy songs. I love how Call Your Mother is meta but also kinda legitimately inspiring. Fun fact: it's even more positive on the album, with a couple of lines being changed from berarting to encouraging. Unfortunately, that means we lost "massive sick cunt", which got changed to "you’ve got the power to be a better human."

No one mentioned it so I will. This is the last song on his first album so it ends the whole thing on antica.

I love how the cosmic DJ just wants to help the poor human limited by three dimensions to be able to loosen up and dance. And it's oddly somehow...comforting? The notion that there are infinite realities, infinite timelines, the multiverse is so massive that nothing we do actually matters in the grand scheme of things, so why not just cut loose and shake yer butt-butt?

What I love about this song that I feel no one mentions, is I would have loved to be friends with this kid. He's happy to let you play with any of his actually cool and expensive toys, eat his snacks, down to literally do anything you want, with the completely reasonable boundary of just don't touch my one toy thats important to me.

Yeah going for that long doing magic tricks is very difficult. Anyone who can pull 3 hours of Close Up Magician my hats to them.

Yeah this is more of a comedic song. I love Tom Cardy for his word smithing and pulling the rug from under you. Like you’re expecting something else to happen only to learn that he is only showing off his skills of playing another instrument, which is currently the flute.

Feel like this song is his excuse to show off that he mastered the flute recently

So the story behind the animators has to do with the fact that one was a new song while the other was released again with the same song but with animation. I still like both songs but the animator for both truly tried their hardest to enhanced the songs without taking anything away from the singer.

He are one of the best comedy-musician that i seen. His sense of rhythm, humor and facial expressions are simply top notch. Every song is a laugh riot while still being a damn good piece of music in its own right. Hope too see more reaction from you. My personal favorite - ''Smoking Joe'' and ''I dont work here''.

This is such a classic for me. It is basically the song that introduced me to Tom Cardy, and although there are other songs of his i like more i still like this one for how simple yet incredibly funny it is.

For more Tom Cardy, i would recommend "Red Flags", "Mixed Messages", and "Perception Check" if you want some more animated music videos. If you are fine with reacting to his more live action stuff, then i am also recommending "Level Clear", "The Ballad of Smokin' Joe Rudeboy", and "H.Y.C.Y.B.H.". Otherwise, some of his newest songs, like "Lo-Fi", "3 Hours with a Close-up Magician", and "Bunch of Draclias (and They're All Playing Flute)". Another recommendation are also two of his collaborative songs... either "Beautiful Mind" which he did with Brian David Gillbert, or "Dance Til You Stop" with Ninja Sex Party which only features Tom Cardy.
