Normally, I'd just abuse backtrack and figure the stage out through trial and error, but I couldn't even understand why I was taking damage when I used Warming Up and crossed the frosty tiles but still ended up taking damage while standing on a non-frosty tile. You have to use Warming Up as soon as it's available AND cross the tiles at the same time.

This isn't worth the stress. RNG screwed me up the moment a crit or no crit happened and I couldn't follow along anymore after that. This is by far my largest gripe with the game; it shoehorns you to such a degree that success or failure no longer comes down to free tactical thinking, just linear "strategizing" with set characters the game forces you to play with that absolutely suck in comparison to the units you personally invested in. The illusion of "choice" vs actual choice is rage inducingly clear and I *hate* that.

Why doesn't anyone do these with skill selection on? It's annoying.

Thank you for this. Mine didn't go exactly like this because my defender got crit early, but I managed to get the clear. I didn't think Col would have to sacrifice all of her friends just to get some cat toys.

Not sure why, probably a lucky crit but in my attemp momo managed to survive that last horde of enemy and wipe them entirely alone.
