Fixing the Pump Part 2 (it's leaking so bad!) (fixed intro)
This is a re-upload to fix the intro. Sorry about the mess-up.
In my last attempt at the pump fix I cut corners and pretty much knew I'd be back with another fix. This time I'm getting rid of the silicone seal (that didn't work) and doing it right. Turns out it's more than the gasket that was needing to be fixed. Enjoy this more detailed pump tear down with two seals that need replacing.

Garlic Harvest 2023
Просмотров 223Год назад
It was definitely time to havest the garlic I planted last fall! Watch this video where I planted it: ruclips.net/video/fPiaisBzr-c/видео.html The weeds went crazy, so finding the garlic became a treasure hunt of sorts. See some of the other things (beside weeds) growing in our expanding garden patch in the former hayfield.
Fixing the little pump | ZERO PRESSURE

Lately it seems every time I turn around another pump issue is facing me square in the face. This time it's the little pump, the one we use for the garden areas and the yard. It simply didn't keep it's pressure. So much was wrong with this thing. Give it a watch to see how bad it was.

The Pump Won't Pump!

When the pump goes out the plants dry up and die. Getting it fixed quickly is important to keep the farm growing nicely. Brent tackles the main pump by simply tearing into it and figuring it out. He's never done this before. Come along and enjoy the fun of learning about the basics of pump operation and how this simple fix was all that was needed.

It's time to get working in the gardens! It's so nice to have better weather with spring on the way. I'm getting some seeds planted out in the no-till garden (not really a "no-till" garden these days). And I'm realizing I need to fence off the garden since the chickens can find their way there. Also, see what's growing in the greenhouse!

I would appreciate an update on the buns. The "money making" plan sounds good in theory. Wondering if it's covering their costs... We are considering them as dual purpose homestead animals. And start up costs are intimidating.

I ended up finding another couple to take care of them after a year and a half. I just couldn't give them the time they needed for grooming. I could keep them fed well, but we just didn't have the infrastructure in place to really give them the space they needed. I liked having them, but they ended up just not being a good fit for us.

I can't say it was entirely effective, however, we do notice quite a few of the offending bugs in the jugs, so it does catch some. I didn't get around to putting any out this year due to an upset in the family life that took a lot of my time, but last year we did. It does work to some degree, is what I can say at this point.

Plums are nifty for syrups, jellies and jellies! You should move the funny shaped tree a bit away. Get a rake to pull down the elderberries. Also I would recommending pruning off some elderberry sticks and putting them in the ground in an area closer to where you could plant them.

You will want probably want to dig up the others. Use what you want, and then you can replant the others in the fall.

Thank you - life always brings up some interesting options sometimes - hard to know what we should do in some cases, but for now anyway, we will continue farming our little plot of land. :) My customer makes rhubarb pies to sell at a local farmer's market, so she goes through the rhubarb - this was her 2nd order from me this season.

Your rhubarb plants are huge! I do like strawberry rhubarb pie. Love your white chickens and your fur babies. I went and bought yarn yesterday, so now I need to watch your crochet channel now. See you again soon!

I just saw that Hobby Lobby yarns have their 30% sale now... so I'm headed there this afternoon. Lol! I actually HAVE to buy some yarn. I'll explain it a video I'll make about it soon. Hee hee! I just love these rhubarb plants! Can't believe how big they get!

@@quarter-milefarm9733 I went to Joannes, clearance yarn and an extra 40% off. I bought some O Go yarn. I have to have so much self control when I shop for yarn! I only bought 3.
