I play guitar and I'm trying to get better!
I'm always thinking of putting up vids so it would pay off to subscribe and it would encourage me! Yes I know I am bad at singing but I am pretty sure I can do better now and I was really nervous for it being my first time on stage. Im going to keep the videos up to show have far I have come. Also, despite the singing and drummer that doesnt really know the song (he is still amazing) I think it is still fun to watch. Hopefully I can get a band with a full time singer, so most I do is backup. =D
Im 14 and I love pop punk and "punk rock", no jonas brothers please. Comments are great so post away! Some of my videos from the beginning are really bad but a lot are good. And just a heads up. Ive been playing guitar for about a year in a half and some of these videos were from when i just started so I wasnt very solid.

One of my favorite bands. Inspiring, harsh, but impowering. I never put my guitar in the actual tuning for the song. And that made the tapping part at the ending impossible. And I messed up at that part too :(. I didn't even know it was tapping till after I uploaded this. But here is a different way to play the song with a 7 string.

Excellent job dude! This song is rough to play on guitar (And still easier to play then the rest of the album haha). Don't worry so much about your picking technique....Dino's playing makes me feel sloppy as hell when i'm trying to cover his guitar lines too...Dude has a mean right hand. Something to try with picking that has helped me a lot with speed is to alternate your pick stokes while alternate picking.....Example for two triplet bursts..... Down up down, up down up. That way you don't waste time and energy resetting your pick position. It just stays one constant motion and makes playing faster licks a lot easier once you get it down. Once again dude, great job! Keep up the good work!

Great cover man! What tuning are you playing in? I see you play it entirely different than most play it, tabs?
I don't have tabs, I learned it by ear. The tuning was unique. It was just the first thing that worked. I'm using a 7 string and the guitar was just in standard tuning, but the low 7 string was tuned to C#. The right way to do it is just tune your guitar to C# standard, which is what Omnium Gatherum using for a lot of their songs. They are one of my favorite bands ever!!! I can't wait to see them live for the first time...in two days!

Thanks! I was the guitar player on the left. I tabbed it out for us when we learned it, Dominic (the singer) doesn't have the same vocal range as Matt Heafy does so we dropped the song down a step using the tabs on Ultimateguitar.com as a model. We didn't have 7 strings at the time but luckily for us the lowest note in the song was a D, so we just repurposed the riffs to fit for guitars in drop D tuning. It actually ended up being easier to play that way LOL

It's my favorite too. I really like Katharsis and Erwachen as well. I also have a guitar cover of Erwachen. I've done these songs by ear. I have a lot of work to do to play guitar at the level I want but playing these fun tunes is a good start. I'm going to keep getting better and keep posting more involved material! Cheers
