Tutorial on how to use the Multi saver cambium saver for spike or pole work. Tree surgery
This is my first video explaining how I used a multi saver to ascend and descend a tree when dismantling. Much easier and very straight forward compared to the running bowline technique.

💞Wow🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍💜💜
Just a comment... at start of video there's rather a lot of rapid this way that way... id prefer you planned more, and took it a bit slower to allow camera to settle on key portions of the story... Enjoyed your presentation, none the less. Cheers
you can use the retrieval ball to, my stein has that little retrieval ball so you can pull the system out from the ground, I use mine to make a anker point on palm trees at the top of the bace. great video mate.
I'm just started and using a flip line. This is exactly the kind of extra safety I was looking for. Can you please provide a list of your line and all other equipment used in this setup.A link to where this can be bought would be great. Many thanks
Just search "alpine butterfly knots"here on yutube. Subscribe to "The Climbing Arborist" and "Educated Climber". Those guys taught me everything I know. Good luck man😁
Check out "Treestuff.com" if you want gear.
What stops the cambium saver from slipping down the trunk even when tight ? (New climber)
friction
Friction, generated by the knuckle/fist distance apart,... watch how he pushes the prussic cord/loop away, to get the space to ensure a load becomes a squeeze.
@@daveoseasthankyou
When say your standing on a branch and your line goes slack, it could fall down the spar?
@craigtomsett3438 I think if Buckingham squeeze type system is set correctly it will catch you well. It has for me on slippery eucalyptus
👍
Thanks for the explanation, got my teufelberger on order
Can you configure the multi saver round the other way so that the small ring is on the the right hand side? I work with my zig zag the other way round as I'm right handed, are you left handed? Thanks, good video.
Yes, no problem at all.
Same rig mate. Works a treat.
Climb SRT with it! Be sure both tails find the ground for retrievals. Jam up the small ring with your "alpine butterfly". Apply a carabiner to that alpine butterfly knot for extra security if you'd like. Use a large tripple locking carabiner for a large ring. This way you can advance up a tree with your anchor. Also convenient for throwline when the luxury presents itself. Fancy techniques but anyone applying themselves with a job they're passionate about can accomplish this. Climb high, climb smart😁💪😎
Hi Dale, I''m new and looking into this system for extra safety. Which part is the alpine butterfly? And if you know anyone in the So California area that would be willing to mentor that would be great. Thanks
Is this like buckingham treesqueeze?
Is there a name for this technique? I want to do a little more research before I go around telling my buddies lol
srt
@@brandonlunney4915I'm just learning but this looks like DRT/MRS to me with a mechanical prusik (Petzl Zigzag). Using an adjustable cambium/friction saver with a prusik this way seems to be called a choke in.
This is what I was looking for, thanks 🙏
Bullet hole great tip thanks for sharing
Great vid mate
Very helpfull video mate! Thank you. I watched a LOT of treeworkers without this cambium safer.. And i think it's inresponsible! Both for the ground man and the climber himself.
keep up the good videos my friend!
Bought one today for 80 euro teufelberger, you also can use it in combination with the flipline
One of my best purchases was the MS from #TEUFELBERGER, I’d be lost without it when climbing.
I learned with flipline only i m almost 50 now and i like this in combination with the flipline
Are the two loop holes the same size? Mine are on my multi, big one hangs down.
Good stuff, I have a M.S. Great bit of kit, 👍
Good video keep them coming
