A brief comparison of two historical places, one an ancient center of medieval Europe, the other, a child of the new world,
Looks like the girls were successful. The story aired in 2006 and in 2024 the beautiful historic courthouse is still there.
Lighten up, Judy.. Kudos to the Courthouse Girls!!
Very creepy, Sy!
Thanks, Sy. Very inspiring.
Thank you, SSJIndy.
Yes!awe We were blessed this season!
Great story! Thanks for sharing😊
😊
Ahh,love spring in Woodruff!!
Thank you.
Love this! We are Woodruffians as well. It was a beautiful experience. We couldn’t make out what that plane’s msg was either.LOve our hood!
Thank you.
Well done, Sy!
Thank you.
I love everything about this!!
Thank you, Julie.
Enjoyed the video. Didn’t know you played piano!
I wish I did.
I really enjoyed your video. Halloween is a special time in Woodruff Place. Thanks for capturing the fun and frivolity. And, giving us a bit of history at the same time.
RUclips has concluded erroneously that the music I used in this video is copyrighted. I purchased the rights to this music more than 8 years ago from Digital Juice. RUclips did not ask for evidence of the purchase before drawing their wrong conclusion, evidence which, indeed, I have!
As a high school assignment, I spent the day in the Wife Good Guys studio with jock Jim Fox. It was a fun, and memorable experience.
Is this the same jingle package that was used by WLS? Thanks for sharing this super blast from the past.
Why post this
Loved it, Sy!!!
Thank you.
@@syindy2 Miss you guys! I am back home in Louisiana now!
@@julienauta255 Stay cool, Julie!
Sy, were you a jockey? I seem to remember hearing your name somewhere way back in my memory.
Good one, my adopted big brother!! Julie Nauta
I don't check these videos often, Julie, which is why just saw your comment. Thank you on behalf of me, our friend, Mitt Romney .and millions of other Americans who are relieved that Mr. Trump now lives in Florida!
Beautiful Tribute !
Wow I remember you. I broke into radio in 1974 in Danville. In
"When you answer your phone, don't say 'hello', say...."
Two world's meet...
Very nice tribute to Elmer .
I'm not sure how I stumbled upon this but I think it's beautiful. Elmer was a wonderful man.
great memories!!
Thanks for posting. What a nice voice doing the news. I would have been 9 years old living on the South side of Indianapolis when this was recorded. Thanks for saving, uploading so we all can here great radio. Again Thanks Brian Sandefur
I was there (sophomore in HS) from 72-74 baby sitting the FM automated station. Beautiful Music For Beautiful People. Top priority? Edit the audio tapes from Bonnevile so that DWB didn't hear Strangers In The Night. My boss Diana Brasheers.
I am looking for the correct adapter for the A7s to mount my Super Multi Coated Takumar on it. Which did you buy? Thanks!
Which adaptor did you use for your SuperTak SY?
David, initially, the wrong one, I later concluded, an NEX adapter called Dot Line. It works fine on my two other Super Taks, a 135mm and a 35mm, but the Dot Line often, for some reason, distorted the image on the 50mm. That distortion is particularly noticeable on the first video I posted. Now, with the 50 (and usually the other two, as well) I use the Voiglander K-mount- to-E-mount adapter, augmented with the Pemak M42-to-K-mount converter. I've had no problems with that set-up.
Sy Jenkins Thanks for the info Sy, such a great lens, can't wait to try it out on the Sony
What a beautiful song and a wonderful tribute to my precious parents! They are there now in that Golden Tomorrow forever and soon I'll join them. Praise God. Joan
A belated "thank you," Joan.
All of them were hdr?
The three B&W photos (including the moon) were not HDRs.
Thanks a lot for the reply. Will wait for the stills from you. What lens did you use/would you recommend?
Until Sony comes out with a good wide angle, I'm using Pentax lenses. That means major cropping and manual shooting, but they work well, especially my old Super Takumar f1.4/50. You can get that one on Ebay for less than $100 and pick up an M42 adapter from B&H for around $50.
Great video. How is the stills quality? Thanks
As good as the video, I think. I'll post some samples later today.
Nice piece. I have seen Victor in other venues throughout indy. He's awesome and has tons of flair. Truly authentic!!!
He's deserving of great success. Thanks.
This is from Saturday, August 15, 1970.
This piece is beautifully done and what a wonderful tribute to an outstanding man. He worked his whole life for his family as did my farther. They wanted nothing for themselves just to see their families warm and happy. Thanks for doing this, Luther
I wish we could have met you. Luther
Elmer, Marian and Joan were the major reasons we visited Great Wass every year, but we'll be back...
Sy, thank you for sharing this tribute of Elmer. We lived next door to Elmer on Great Wass Island and we would vacation there during the month of August. Coming from Massachusetts at the time, this world up North shaped my and my brother's childhood memories. The thunder hole, wildlife preserve, the Carver store, fish hanging on the line to dry, the lobster pound, Bonnie and Arnold's organic farm, and many rides out in Elmer's lobster boat will forever store as the best memories shared growing up in New England.
This is wonderful. I could not hold back the tears. Thank You, Luther Beal
Thanks. We miss him, too.
Hi Sy and Emily, I just watched the videos of Dad and Mom. Very well done, thank you for sharing these. Although it makes me sad, the memories are priceless. Your Island Friend, Joan
My pleasure, Joan. Stay warm!
Sy, you don't know me but I know Emily. And it was through your beautiful video on Elmer that I have been able to connect better with my friend of the 70s whom I long for a re-connection. Please tell her no matter what she's gone through, I am ready to be her friend (and yours). Any friend of my Emy is a friend of mine. Life is short. My dad Chet, he himself a reporter, recently passed away in Fargo. I, along with Beth and Steve have been SEARCHING for years for Emily. Help her to understand to respond to my requests to call or email. My information is on her message on Facebook. Thank you again for being connected enough to finally see my Em. I want her friendship again. Thanks so much, Peggy (Gebert) Adamick. Pocahontas, ILLINOIS.
I haven't seen the name "Sgt. Hipes" in almost half-a-century; it's right up there with Major Loutzenheimer (or something like that)! If you're on Facebook, Jim, I have a few photos of that period you may find interesting (I'd link to them, but RUclips doesn't allow that).
Sy, your memory is good...hair no longer reddish but still there and yes I was the tall Chronicle guy along with Sgt. Hipes. I believe we worked for a Lt whose name escapes me but he really ripped me about the car episode. You were much more understanding (but probably still pissed). A long time ago but it was nice to stumble across your audio walk. Glad you were able to pursue your radio dreams. Thanks for the memories!
Hello, Jim. I apologize that I just saw this (I don't check RUclips often, obviously). My memory's not the best, but were you the tall, red-haired guy who worked on the Chronicle?
Laugh out really loud
Enjoyed the audio walk through Worms, Germany. I believe I borrowed your car back in the day and it broke down along the highway to Frankfurt. Thanks for the Comz memories...sorry about the car.
This cannot be October 13, 1970. First, the Saints did not play Houston during the regular season, and four weeks of the regular season were completed by Oct. 13. Second, it was unfeasible to hold a primary election Oct. 13 and a general three weeks later. Check the date.
The incident occurred on private property, not the Nature Conservancy (you are correct, dogs are not permitted there). I'm not defending the dog, but she was on that rock first. In addition, if this was harassment, the seal was barking at the dog, too, and if the confrontation had escalated, I suspect the seal could have handled the matter well.
Sy Jenkins So the seal should not have been there?, private property? No, I think it's the seals domain whether the dog was there first makes no difference.
To be honest it’s not private property for the dog or the seal because they’re animals and they’re not bound by the law, I think the dog just wanted to play but the seal got scared
Hey Thanks for posting Sy! I Listened to wife radio as a kid (didn't everyone) in the 60s and this was a fun flashback!
Not everyone. More of us were listening to WNAP. ;)
@@keithelster8858 Not in the mid 60s. Wnap played classical music until about 68 or 69. Wife was am radio and we listened on our transistor radios and cars before the good music came to wnap
WNAP website says until july1,1968 the format was classical.
