    Wow, the Commodore 64 computer blew the doors off the Apple IIe computer. Why would anyone, in their right mind, buy an Apple IIe when the Commodore 64 was clearly the better computer?! And, the Commodore 64 cost a lot less money. 🤔

    • @SavvySage
      @SavvySage 29 дней назад

      It makes sense that the Commodore 64 sold better since it cost less and was sold at retail stores-however schools and businesses were the primary reason the Apple II line did well, despite significantly lower sales than Commodore.

    • @HansCampbell
      @HansCampbell 29 дней назад

      @@SavvySage The Commodore 64 computers were also in schools. No, the Apple IIe computers were not used for business, the IBM PCs were. I stand by what I said, the Commodore 64 blew the doors off the Apple IIe and is the better computer. So, only stupid people, or people filled with ego, chose the Apple IIe. Smart people chose the Commodore 64. 🤔

    • @SavvySage
      @SavvySage 29 дней назад

      Regarding the business part: I never said just the Apple //e, I said "Apple II line". In the early 80s (before the IBM PC), the Apple II became popular with businesses around the time VisiCalc hit the market. The Apple IIe came out in 1983-by that time, VisiCalc was not only ported to the IBM PC (which many businesses shifted to), but Lotus was taking away its market share. And yes, the Commodore 64 was made available to schools-it just didn't move as many units compared to Apple. I'm not disagreeing with you on the Commodore 64 being better (in my opinion it is), I'm just going by objective facts here 😅

    That wobble on your screen is caused by capacitors on the analog board that might need to be replaced. Mine used to do it - after a recap it's rock solid.

    Just to clarify that "Head Rush" Jack Attack in "The Unexpected" episode, they are all LIES, not the truth but it the misconception that people think these lies are facts: - Twinkies DO SPOIL, don't let them sit in the back of your shelf for too long. - Fortune Cookies are NOT Chinese, they are created by Japanese immigrants in United States. - Common Cold DOES NOT cause by cold air/weather, it causes by viruses. - Napoleon WAS NOT SHORT, he was average height (5 foot 6, about 1.68 meters). This misconception was cause by propaganda. - Thomas Edison did NOT invented the light bulb, Alessandro Volta was the first ever developed one, Edison was the one who made light bulb COMMERCIALLY and often credited as the inventor of the bulb, but he used past/other scientists' patents to create the bulb, Edison was also a massive d*ck. - Swimming after eating does NOT causes cramps, because there are no evidences this is the case, you might get cramps if you don't stretch your limbs and such. - Lastly, Bats are NO WAY blind, they have eyes for the reason to see, they just so happen to have echo locator ability.

    FYI, the "repair guys" recapped your Macintosh Classic the correct way. DO NOT replace the electrolitic capacitors with solid state capacitors. They have different characteristics, and when the solid state capacitors eventually go bad, they pop or blow, taking traces and pcb with them. Electrolitic capacitors that are made in Japan, Germany, or the USA are very high quality and will usually last for 20 to 30 years. 🤔

    • @SavvySage
      @SavvySage Месяц назад

      All I can say is at least I won't need to worry about them for a long time-electrolytic capacitors today aren't as bad as what Apple used back then, haha

    Not all IIe have fully socketed motherboards. My has the RAM and about 1/2 of the chips soldered directly to the motherboard, I think this is true as a cost reduction on later runs of the Iie.

    The lack of a track 0 switch in the disk ][ was not a technical limitation but rather a cost saving measure by Woz.
