Man, the term "cinematic" is a boner killer. It's a flat film, colors are flat so you can edit it to look how you want.

Phones naturally take away some life from the media to make them clean. This is why pros use proper hardware, it’s not going to capture the perfections, but rather the reality

That off brand one you ditched looks identical to the Kodak one as far as the shape of the body was concerned. Maybe it just had a bad roll of film in it. It just look like someone took off the Kodak label and put their own on it.
Yeah it’s probably a repackaged Kodak with respooled film in it.

I find it very difficult to color correct after scanning, but your photos are fire
I was watching it casually but then i decided to take notes as it got too informative and felt like a good lecture.

You can literally just develop it in C-41 and wash off the remjet with a washing soda/baking soda solution
