Growing up, I hated beans, but I could literally finish 8 big wraps of Moinmoin. Whenever mum cooked Moinmoin/Ekuru/Akara, she would leave me in the kitchen to eat as many as I could. Just one spoon of beans could make me purge throughout the day, yet I could eat loads of Moinmoin for days with no problems. Ironically, beans happens to be one of my favourite meals now, I've hacked ways of cooking to my body system's preference. Mum said I didn't eat any formula, that the only milk I was ok with was soy milk. I didn't like onions too. I realized I like it, I just don't like seeing it in big chunks. One of my brothers hated boiled eggs with passion, it still nauseates him, but he could eat fried eggs or a mixture of egg, salt and pepper boiled together. It could be plantain, pineapple, coconut or fish for another brother, yet, none of us was forced to eat what we didn't like. As strict as mum was about a lot of things. This video is making me appreciate her more for letting us breathe. When I'm sure there were many iya adugbos that would be on her neck that she was spoiling us. Raising five children with absolutely different tastes must have been a whole lot!😭 She respected our choices, I'm not surprised she still does. And we all respect her back BIG TIME. Before she says jack, we don take dressing.

Parents should stop tainting their children's childhood in the name of, "for their own good." God helps us to do better.
