The PLAN aircraft carriers with the ski jump ramps are already behind the times. The ski jump ramp launch system limits their planes ability to carry fuel and arms due to weight limits. These are based on the old Soviet design. The new flat top carriers are poorly made with poor welding and their launch system is not up to par with planes falling off the end into the sea. The biggest problem is that the Chinese have not developed a fleet to surround their carriers with protective subs under the sea, ships to surround and protect the carrier on the surface, and advanced air wings to defend and radar planes to look into the distance. Further they to do not have real world battle experience with decades of live battle operations or human experience amongst the commanding officers. I do not want to seem confident but the Americans and their allies have all this and more. China may have large numbers of ships but many are coastal not blue water ships. They do have have long range rockets that kill ships. The Americans have the advantage.
