4 speed,,4 barrel, dual exhaust, Yeah Baby!!!

I will tell you this as I once owned one. Chevy called the Pace Car Convertibles a Z-11 and they produced about 3500 +/- of the Convertibles and true they all had Orange Houndstooth Interiors. However, Chevy produced somewhere around 400 +/- Coupes that were called the Z-10 and they mostly had 350 engines, but there were a few with a 396 cu in that came in three different HP ratings 325, 350 and 375. Most came with the Ivory Interior. Now they were only sent to dealers in the SW part of the US. I bought min New in June 1969 in Lawton OK. The reason they were made as a Coupe is because most people in those states felt it was too HOT to run around in a Convertible. Oh, mine also had a black Vinyl Top. I was not a fan of the Vinyl Top, but that was the only one they had with a 375 HP 396.

I love the engines from Chevy, Ford, and Mopar, (never saw a built Buick, Olds, Pontiac, or AMC, but there's just something about the sound of Fords from the Boss 302s racing the road courses, to hot 351s (both C&W) and the all-time best sounding engine in my opinion, is the 427 sohc. That idle alone! As a kid, my group of friends were all Chevy, mostly because supply and cost to build. We always thought the Fords were almost exotic, because they kind of were because fewer people around us knew much about them and they always seemed to cost a lot to mod. But anything on the street that was modded, always smoked anything we had - especially this legendary Cougar that beat everything - and he never once lifted the hood for us, or talked about what they did to the car. Had turn-downs that exited right under the front seats, and it looked like a street sweeper when he'd nail it - dust and rocks blowing all over the place.

Cool video !!! Shock to hear that 430 thosand were made??? My brother still has his Z10 . He is the original owner. Bought it here in Texas. FYI Only about 200 Z10's were made for North Texas & Oklahoma dealerships.(and in 2 other states?) Thats what makes it so rare ...see other UTube videos on the Z10. Have a nice day. - Johnny

That's a beautiful car. My freind Restored a Convertable one It had the 350 4sp 12 bolt rear. It was the RS/ SS. It took 2nd place in TheFrank Morata Auto show at the New Haven Collusium.
