Keeping in mind that "HR" is the name of a department and the title given to members of that department, HR is not a qualification. The answer is HR should step in only when qualified and within the mission assigned to HR by the CEO. The CHRO is a single voice at officers' staff, always working from a consensus.
Interesting perspective - and thanks for your comment! I think the unique thing for HR leaders is that yes, HR is a department, but "HR" also references people/skills. For example, we don't often hear, "We have to consult Marketing on this issue" but we do often hear, "We have to consult HR on this issue". Also, while there are moments when CEOs step in to guide departments' directions, in many cases, HR priorities are not assigned by the CEO but rather identified within the HR team/head of HR based on feedback and/or present problems needing solving or a need for risk mitigation. Thanks for listening!

😝😝😝 they treat their aides very well, I’m impressed 👍👍The Queen advocates treating staff with dignity in the workplace. I hope you would take heed that even if you have the facts, you must also first view those facts with an understanding of the English culture and the royal’s protocols. Good luck!!
Thanks for this comment as well! You're absolutely right - The Queen does advocate for this and this is why I reference that I was glad with how The Queen was portrayed in the interview. My focus is on the HR process as a function in a business/organization so my research was based on this element and the Institution as a business. Thank you!
The HR in the institution is meant for the royal staff. Working royal members are assigned assistants. If she could have her own team of OB-GYN it boggles my mind why she went to the HR. She was well-aware of how brutal the tabloids would be. She knew what she married into. None of them - the royal members - were and are exempted from the tabloids brutality. It seems to me that she wanted them to give her special treatment because she believed that she’s special. No, the complaint of her abuse of royal staff was made in 2018 not done in retaliation.
Thank you for your comment! Just to clarify, my discussion in the video is focused on what we know and how an HR team would/should handle these concerns when addressed to them. In the research I've done, it seems as though HR was a last and final resource that Meghan sought out - again, we're operating and discussing this with minimal facts. The staff complaints were made in 2018, but became public knowledge in March 2021; this is what I was referring to, not the actual complaints themselves.
@@hrtraci Meghan is supposed to be a smart and resourceful woman. She was able to avoid royal traditions by having her own private OB-GYN team but couldn’t find help for her mental health? Prince Charles, Prince William & Prince Harry were very open to the public about them seeking therapy for mental health. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were on campaigns to not stigmatise mental health. So I wouldn’t surmise that HR department for royal staff was her last resort. She had ready avenues to seek help - her own OB-GYN team and her husband’s own psychiatrist.
@@nocturnalowl5867 What's tough is that we don't know all the facts - I can't speak to anything more than what we're provided. I'm sure there's more to the story!
@@hrtraci Meghan's alleged abuse of her royal staff was only made public in now is a long time coming. I suppose the palace was indeed protecting her while she claimed they didn't care. Because if the allegations of her bad behaviour were true, the persons who will be negatively affected by this news would only be Meghan and her husband to a certain extent. However, it was kept under wraps and I cannot help but suspect that was to protect Meghan and her already falling reputation in 2018. By the way, we do not need plenty of facts to know that Meghan's claims of the Palace HR rejecting her cry for help to deduce who is making up stories. Again I reiterate: the fact that she snubbed the royal doctors by hiring her own private OB-GYN team meant that she knew where and how to seek medical services. Her check-ups with her gynaecologist when she was pregnant would include her doctor asking after her mental health too. Now why did she need to go to HR department meant for royal staff to get them to find a psychiatrist for her? Was her husband's psychiatrist not good enough?
So informative
Glad you liked it!
What did you think of the discussion? What did you learn?
