- Henry David Thoreau
“It was the hour in which objects lose the consistency of shadow that accompanies them during the night and gradually reacquire colors, but seem to cross meanwhile an uncertain limbo, faintly touched, just breathed on by light; the hour in which one is least certain of the world's existence.”

“Above all, don't lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others.” - Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov “Главное, самому себе не лгите. imma loop the fuck out of this
I've bookmarked this video, and I listen to it daily. Thank you very much for putting it together. I also checked out "Selected Works of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: Introduction by Nicholas Boyle (Everyman's Library)" from the school library. I intend to listen to this as I read it!
I will always be a fan of Dostoevsky rest of my life and that is all i want.
I got jumpscared 😂
The playlist I didnt look for but i am so glad I've found. Ive just finished the Brother's Karamazov but for Next Dostoevsky I will use this playlist.
I am reading The Magic Mountain for the fourth time and this is gold. Thank you so much
If this really is music for reading Dostoevsky, it needs to be waaaaaaay longer.
frrrrr
Dostoevsky's jumpscare
It's as if I'm too deep for the world, That's how they make me feel. I get lost in myself during times of solitude and have trouble arranging myself back into their world when they want me to speak to them. I wish they would take me seriously, all i want to be is nothing, or maybe just something that isn't them. I run away from modernity, from banality, from, tedium and unoriginality. I can't be with people of today, We don't understand each other, I'm alienated beyond any saving, i'm shamefully misanthropic and I'm homesick for a place that doesn't exist. Secretly i want to live but i feel only to die will truly add life to the soul that drowns within my skin. My only friends are dead, Kafka, Dostoevsky, Bukowski, Camus, Pessoa. I think they would understand me. Am i still human? If so, to what degree? - B.Villin
bro not the dostoievsky jumpscare
Awful title for such a nice playlist. If you listen to any music while reading Dostoevsky, then you're clouding a crystal-clear water
Reading this right now
this book was hilarious, I need more comic music in this playlist
The Ukrainian flag, "Dostojewski" written wrong and Dostojewski being a Russian writer himself. You can't make that up :DDDD
You wrote in Slavic transliteration, but in English it’s correct. What a Dosto Jew ski?
don't u mean Dostopolski?
As someone who's about to have to complete an English literature exam on Modernism where one of the set texts is "To the Lighthouse" this is perfect for me trying to get through the rest of the novel lol
Quite ironic that you're promoting a Russian author while having an anti Russian flag as your avatar.
if it were any other flag besides North Korea would it also be "anti russian"?
34:53 the fact that i was reading Marmeladov's end of speech when this played, as he talked about being crucified. I'd say that was an immaculate timing.
The music is great, but I couldn't read with it. 🤷🏽♀️🤗♥️♥️

Love that I found this! "Crime and Punishment" is my favorite novel !

This was just perfect as a background ambience to my reading of Der Zauberberg. Many thanks!
Yeah, I can see the world of Moscow appear before my eyes... The Grand Ball... This book is a masterpiece!
çalma listemi bulduğuma göre dönüşüm okumaya başlayabilirim.
The illustrations are great!!
Ooof
I recommend jazz- classical- opera album by Slovak jazz composer Sisa Michalidesová. You can find it by a name: Majster a Margaréta- that is slovak translation. That album is beyond it's time, the world of Bungakov will never sound different again. It's mastercraft, but don't worry. Only two song are with slovak lyrics. Other songs are just instrumental music.
So he lay a very long while. Now and then he seemed to wake up, and at such moment he noticed that it was far into the night, but it did not occur to him to get up
I love the internet for as specific and niche videos like this
I was just looking for someone to record an ado cover for…
Thank you very much Julia 😮😮😮❤❤❤!!!
