So true. We took in our son’s border collie mix who is an adorable sweetheart but she is energetic and playful and needs lots of games of fetch and mental stimulation. We love her madly but they are a lot of work due to their high energy.

Border Collies are best for herding sheeps. Here's a shepherd man on RUclips who makes shorts of how his dogs are herding his sheep. It's amazing, and you can see the dogs love what they do. That's the right life for those dogs, and not just going for a walk once or twice a day. Of course, then they are completely under-challenged.

Our Border, “Sam” is to old to play frisbee (we called it “frizz) we always had about 10 soft floppy’s spread over our 2 acre .When we’d have get togethers here he’d find one, drop it at random people’s feet, and then stare. After about an hour or so when this was getting old, as he’d bring fizz after frizz, id put the on the roof of the carport until he could not find anymore. Then he’d finally lady down, look around a bit, let out a sigh, put his head down and pout. We miss his frizz time, but he’s still around!

We had a few dogs while I grew up, but my BC was the best dog I ever had. She was a handful for sure, but was an amazing and brilliant dog.
