Hello Everyone!
My name is David.
Welcome to my RUclips channel.
Let me take you around Singapore (or when travel overseas), from popular tourist attractions, less known interesting places, hawkers, food, culture, events, festivals, parks or anything interesting enough to showcase, including heritage, myths or stories on Singapore or around the World that I discovered.
Singapore is an island country and city-state in Southeast Asia. The country's territory comprises one main island, 63 satellite islands and islets, and one outlying islet.

Thank you for your knowledge and information. It's helpful.
Beautiful photos
Thank you for your compliments.
I remember the ricola advert, the microphone😂
Yes, and it's quite a regular frequent ad then. 😅
This is from 1943. The Human Comedy @4:23 was released on March 1 of that year. It was a fairly decent movie according to reviews. Nice to see people dressed well even in the middle of a war. Note the relatively light traffic. Due to wartime rationing, most people were limited to 4 gallons of gas per week. That was per household, not per car. Public transportation and bicycles became very popular.
Thank you for your knowledge information. It's very helpful to understand more in depth.
Omg the Bedok cinema

1:24 It is Oxley Rise instead of Penang Road. Landmark is Chesed-El Synagogue.
Yes. You are correct.
This is incredible, thank you so much for posting this !
Thank you for your comments.
This is one of most interesting old footages I ever saw, so much quality, and the landscape shows so much of the oldi city and old people carrying out their routines.... Just incredible thank you so much for posting this
Thank you for your feedback.

Very interesting, thanks for posting
Thank you.
Look out for part 2, this time 25 minutes of the lives of ordinary people, in color.
I was just 24 years old, surely bring back good old days memories, the 80's are still the best.
Yes, the best times were the 70s to 80s, when nation was progressing and people were closer.
@@DavidLHK especially the cranking noisy SBS buses 😂🤣😂🤣 but now people don't really have the patience to flag for the bus they want to board...🙄
@@ShimomuraTakezoWong Those buses, fully packed, smoky but yet works.
@DavidLHK it's because 🇸🇬 had LKY and the way to Excellence.
Was born in 85, no matter how futuristic Singapore is, the city is always mixed with the old. Love it, and may it never change.
I agree.
❤
Thank you.
WOW nice
Thank you.
Do u know it is called Golden MILE? I KNOW....
BYGONE era......sad
Don't mind share with us?
Yes, it's gone.
What time and day the video shoot.Seems that majority of the stalls are closed.I think u should specify captions which is more appropriate.Thanx for the sharing.
I went wrong timing, after 3.30pm. One of the hawkers told me, most active time is morning to lunch hour.
Malay land
More closely, Indonesian first, then Malay took over latter. I think.
@DavidLHK do you have proof? Prove it sir
@@DavidLHK Maybe you don't know how big Malay land is
Why there is a escalator? Everybody needs to exercise......too much food up there....
For old people I guess, who really need them.
Any older footage, say 1980.... I emigrated to the west in spring 1980.......n at that time, spore was truly a 3rd world....diff landscapes...maybe u r too young to remember,😮
Yes, I do have some, 60s, 70s, 80s, plus 1900-1950, 1860-1900. Check them out.
I am teochew
Early Teochew migrants mainly congregate what is now the Hougang region, the major strong hold, just like other enthic groups who may dominate other areas, before HDB housing started to split them up due to developments, etc.
I see the old National Theatre. Could this video be even older than 1985?
It should be around that same ERA, plus minus, before it was demolished. This was where many Rock concerts were held, and those without tickets went up that hill behind to see for free.
Based on records, National Theatre was demolished in Aug 1986.. so the recorded date of this film is likely to be correct. 🙂
I’m Hainanese
Congrats!! So is Lawrence Wong. Hainanese people very friendly and united, but that's after one gets to know them better.
The popularity so long gone, how it become a trend topic in the past if no radio or television as to be believed, I feel of making a Vlog(Video "Storyte"[as heard "Blog is actually about Google"]) about food: "Food@Venture" definitely will be reaching here. How can I talk to someone if it's a "control"(push by gases that no normal people around) of communication and reach? Language barrier could be making them able to think as retarded then?
Before 4mins 30s have "Avocado"(heard as steroid), dangers at nice places must not be this high.
You're not showing your face but you can disturb others,by taking a video while they are eating. Straights to their face. So rude.
I noted your comments and feedback. Thank you. During my filming, there are people who don't mind and some in fact wants to appear in my videos, those don't I delete and some are scenes filmed to show real situation at time of filming, at random. I don't show my face because I film mainly hawker centres and food and not to get famous, so my concept is behind the lens, not in front. Hope you enjoy my videos. Best regards.
