Which is Better? - Drill vs Seed-Spreader

I used the Tar River DRL-072 Seed Drill to plant 1/2 of this plot and an Earthway Nylon Bag Hand Spreader for the other half. PREP: Sprayed both sides w 41% Glyphosate 1 week prior to planting. PLANTING: Seed Mix containing various brassica, radish, clover & chicory obtained from the local CO-OP. Planted July 29th in NW Pennsylvania just before a rain. #foodplots #tarriver #deeraddiction #deerh...

Where is this pl0t? What zone? Looks good but how much food will be grown here?
I have about 4 acres of fall food plot mixed between the 4 borders. NW Pennsylvania. USDA zone 6a. The fall food plots are about 18” tall with brassica/radishes/beets/chicory/clover.
Did you buy a drill?
Yep - Fall Food Plots! ruclips.net/video/AFaMTzfhhJc/видео.html
Thanks ❤😢❤🎉❤🎉😢🎉❤
You're welcome!
Electric fence, my friend!
Done!
Pine needles are a good source of vitamin C. And while I rarely see damage to small pines seeded naturally, I do see deer go nuts for any conifer that was transplanted. Not a biologist, just a tree guy who started in 98.
That is pretty fascinating stuff - wonder why they'd be drawn to the conifers that are transplanted? A pure conifer stand that is regenerating might be more of a deer desert which would reduce grazing pressure as opposed to a conifer planted in the middle of a grassy/food plot area.
I've seen deer choose to destroy transplanted conifers while natural saplings of ponderosa pine, Douglas fir and blue spruce are untouched. Next to the front door of a house in a heavily forested community. These deer are fat, happy and not afraid of humans. Personally, I think the critters can tell when a plant isn't from local genetics or if it has been moved. Some form of hormonal signal? The real test would be seeing if a protected transplant's offspring would be targeted at the same level.
Time to invest in a solar-powered electric fence!
I'm thinking solar powered fence, bigger field & scarecrows?
OMG what a nuisance! Deer have destroyed my whole yard. I've just given up.
AGREE!
Time to install a hot zone electric fence!
So super cute!!!
I think so too!
Looks like y'all had a great time.
Lots of fun!
Long-tailed deer.
It does look pretty long!
Pop and no more babies or the mom

@@deeraddiction9524 Thank you so much for your reply! I've already sent you an email.
Hi - unfortunately, I have not seen the email.
Looks like a Klingon Bird of Prey
I know - looks fake!
Great hunt guys congratulations on a beautiful bird😊
Thanks!! It was a fun hunt.
Meeeeee

Yes
Beautiful.
I see the birdie.
I LOVE this! Cardinals are stunningly beautiful, thanks for catching this! 😁
I've got some beautiful Cardinals in my backyard. I love the variety of birds I'm seeing again over the last six months. The woodpeckers well not so much 😂 just kidding. They're welcome too.
Ayo
No
High standards - I like it!
G.O.N.E.!
Uh huh!
Needs another year next year he will be a stud
Def will improve if he makes it another year!
I'm going to guess top of the screen where the orange is 😂
Funny how hard it is to see the actual Hunter though
Freestand was a dead giveaway.
Love hunting out of a freestand!
@@deeraddiction9524 same. Almost as much as a close quarters stalk. Love testing myself.
Yes but I wasn't looking till I read it
Yep!
Deer didn’t 😂
True!
CWD
Looks like a caribou
We called him “Raghorn” because he looked like a raghorn bull elk. He was all over our cameras during summer ‘22, but disappeared just before archery season and i never saw him again.
He’s going to be a monster someday
ya it does look young
Shooot
Yes
I agree! He’s on my wall now!
His brows are tiny so no 1 have killed a 140 inch
140” is a nice buck! Congrats!
Not a shooter
How about on last day of the season?
Pff if yall could see the carnage i laid down on this button buck yall would push this deer to my stand 😂
Haha - nice job on the BB!
@@deeraddiction9524 unhealthy 3 year old he had a gimp foot the leg had to of been hit last year or the year before the bone was non existent near the hoove. Plenty of great meat left though 😋
ok.... ill be the first to say what a lot of people will say. "Give him another year"
Nice strategy. What if your neighbor’s family shoots 10 or more deer yearly? Would that change your strategy?
@@deeraddiction9524 ohhh... im totally joking. I hunt to have meat. not to have horns on the wall.
I like having both - bigger horns usually equals more meat in the freezer!
@deeraddiction9524 look at Texas deer. big horns. but not big bodied
Probably bigger body on the big racked-deer in TX than the small-racked deer. But I do get your point. @@iceman-ko6xi
Yeh
He’s def a nice buck.
Yep
Agree!
4legs- ✅ Alive-✅ More than 5 antler spikes✅ Isn’t standing on two legs talking gibberish and acting eradically in between labored breathes-✅ Not suffering from previous bad shot or CWD-✅ Yes sir that’s a nice young yet, old enough, pile of venison 🤠
Agree!
Nahhh
You have some high standards! Kudos to you!
Yes
Agree!
Nope, I hunt for meat. I couldn’t care less about a buck. Whatever steps out catches a sleeping pill.
Can't fault you there. I just like that the bigger antlers tend to carry a lot more meat... To each their own.
i love it i lik hunting to
Great!
