Long comment here, but can Giglio elaborate more on some of the issues with the buy in from the administration at NCSU? I feel similarly, but don’t have information on specifics or why we do the things that we do. Make a CWS in 2021, waited 6-7 months to start fundraising for renovations. And now we’re 3 years on from that announcement and there’s been little to communication on why there’s been Doak Field renovation delays. Made MBB/WBB FF in 2024, scheduled your one basketball NIL event on a weeknight at Lenovo that overlapped with the State Fair. Made the CWS again in 2024, no NIL event in 2025. This is the most frustrating part to me as a State fan. We don’t position ourselves to the fanbase as serious organization, no matter which specific org you’re looking at - athletics dept, WPC, etc.

Giglio can talk about about money until he's blue in the face but it is ultimately Keatts' fault this team is so much less than the sum of the parts. He has not put this team in position to succeed. How many midrange shots did State miss against Cal? In 2025 how can a coaching staff not understand the easily available analytics that say these are terrible shots? State is outside the top 100 in KenPom efficiency in BOTH offense and defense. That is horrid and unacceptable. Thanks for the run last year, but this is atrocious. I was a Keatts defender last year before the run. You can't be 2-9 in arguably the weakest ACC of all time. Time to try something new.

If you're a racing fan, a big sports holiday is the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. You have the F1 Monaco GP in the morning, the Indy 500 in the afternoon, and the Coke 600 at night. I also miss the Friday of the old ACC Tournament back when there were only eight teams. It didn't matter the grade; the teacher would have the TV on the cart wheeled in the room and we would watch the noon game. By the time the game was over, the school day was nearly over. Miss those days.

At some point, the athletics department has to stop saying "college athletics have changed and this is the best we can do." Surely we can find a coach where the floor is much higher than getting dominated by Cal twice in the same season. A floor of 75 KenPom and a ceiling of 15 KenPom would make me satisfied as a fan, but this is the 2nd year outside the top 100 and we've never even had a crack at top 25. Keatts' ceiling is 41 and floor is 128. Fully aware of the NIL disparity, but we frequently can't squeeze the juice out of the lemons we have.

I’m sorry but Hubert Davis is just throwing this out there as a fix to a problem UNC doesn’t have, or at the very least, is not the problem that is causing the program to suffer this season. Recruits like Washington and Cadeau aren’t developing. Transfers like Withers have drastically underperformed compared to expectations, and even the team’s return ACC POY is struggling mightily with efficiency this year, even worse than last seasons. Yet RJ is still on the floor doing the same things he always does: mercilessly hunting his shots and forcing bad ones at the worst times. Alabama loss last year illustrates this very well. It seems that’s the RJ that came back this year. Meanwhile less prestigious programs with far less NIL money are having comparable or better seasons. I’m not saying that a GM wouldn’t help UNC in some capacity, but what’s the point of trying to bring in more talent when said talent will be coached by a serial underachiever like Davis.

Hurts is a top 5 QB in the league, and probably not 5 or 4. Ask him to be an elite passer and he can be (check his numbers as a passer over his career). Ask him to manage games and his main focus will be on limiting turnovers (which he's done tremendously this year), Ask him to lead tge team on his legs and he's got that down every time. What he is, is a winner. He puts the petty stats aside and knows exactly what to do to win games. Perfect example: the 3 Saquon runs of 60+ yards vs the rams and Washington were EACH audible calls by Jalen at the line. He understood how to beat the defense, and put his team in the right spot to do it. And THATS why he is our franchise qb in Philly GO BIRDS BABY No one likes us, we don't care :)

How does UNC not already have the video guy and the marketing fundraiser guy? These type positions have been in other schools like Duke the past at least 3 seasons. I know the GM thing is relatively new since Scheyer took over. Interesting that UNC wasn’t on the same wavelength for structure.

Him stepping down "for the good of the program" might also catch them flat footed and cause UNC to need to rebuild the coaching staff AND roster with at the same time with zero time to do both. I can't see him doing that without someone in the program knowing this in advance to get started on the coaching search now- not in a month, now. It's honestly better to me to be out of the tournament to get running on transfers and clean out the roster. We've got lots of dudes taking up schloarship space that need to move on and none of them are Freshman this year.

After seeing past Kentucky players side with Coach Cal over their alma mater,- I don’t think people emphasize enough how important it is to keep it in the Carolina family. Players are loyal to their coach, not the university, and Hubert’s ties go back to Dean Smith. At UNC, the university and its coaches are essentially the same entity. Duke is probably the only other program that even comes close to that. It’s a special tradition UNC has over every school, and it shouldn't be taken lightly, even if this year seems lost. People need to take a deep breath and give the man one more year and see if he can evolve.

The ACC isn't headed towards a coaching crisis, it's in the middle of one. Actually, the multiple vacancies this offseason may mean that the ACC is headed to a coaching opportunity.

I have “that feeling” about this Duke team. I didn’t fully believe in the 2019 Zion team. They had an RJ Barrett hero-ball problem. I did think the 2015 team would play in the natty, but I was worried about Kentucky. I thought the 2010 team would win, and the 2001 team was a sure bet. 1999 was the biggest miss. I thought Duke had that championship easy. This is the best team I’ve seen since 2001. I’m preaching the gospel of this Duke team.
