Walmart Halloween Horror Movie Hunting Fail
It's so annoying when all of the slipcovers are damaged. How does that even happen? Drives me crazy.
@@TheHORRORman I wonder if they are being damaged when they are placed in the movie standee. All of the slipcovers were damaged in the same area.
Cool pickups there Brian, some really nice goodies. I agree how Amazon sending out steelbooks is insane and hazardous. I don't order any 4Ks, Blu Rays, and DVDs from Amazon anymore, unless I absolutely have to, how they package physical media nowadays is a joke. That artwork for Alien Romulus is pretty awesome I must say. Stir of Echoes is one of Kevin Bacon's forgotten films, and one I remember reading or hearing he was very proud of making. Can't remember if it came out before or after The Sixth Sense, but it was unfairly overshadowed. That Bacon's character's abilities come after getting hypnotized by a friend at a party is a really neat concept. Take care my friend, hope you're well, and speak to you soon.
@@tvnash I think that Stir of Echoes was originally released a few months after The Six Sense. It was a shame that it was pretty much ignored at the Boxoffice. It’s one of my favourite horror films of the 1990’s. I think that I’m done with ordering any more steelbooks through Amazon. They are way too inconsistent with their packaging. I can’t be bothered worrying about receiving damaged items every time I place an order. Have a great rest of your weekend my friend.
Very cool that you got Curtains signed! The ice skating scene is great. I haven't seen the Wrong Turn movies past the first one. Cool edition of Dead Snow. Great Top 3!
@@rustingwillpower Yeah I was very excited when I found out that I had a chance to meet Lynn Griffin. She was awesome. I have only seen the second, fourth and sixth film in the Wrong Turn series. They are decent but I wouldn’t search them out. The steelbook release of Dead Snow is a Canadian edition. Thanks for watching.
Good choices Brian! Nice to see you join in on this and make another video, hope all is well with you. Keep the love and passion alive!
@@Heavymetalrille Thank you for your kind words my friend. I’m planning on searching through my horror collection for next week’s topic.
Awesome choices, Brian! The mask in Curtains is definitely one of my favorites ever. So cool that you have it signed. Thanks so much for participating, my friend! I appreciate it.
@@TheHORRORman I have to agree with you about the mask in Curtains. I am planning on revisiting the film this weekend. Have a great weekend my friend.
Great picks Brian. I love curtains. Wrong turn 4 is so much fun. Dead snow is great.
@@HorrificNightmaresJM Curtains is one of my favourite ‘80s slasher movies. I need to revisit Wrong Turn 4 as it’s been a while since I last watched the film.
Ooh, I really like that Romulus steelbook! Awesome edition of Stir of Echoes. I picked up the standard Blu-Ray of Terrifier 3 and then ended up finding the steelbook as well. I really liked Subservience. Great pick-ups, my friend!
@@TheHORRORman I was thinking about picking up the steelbook release of Terrifier 3, but we didn’t get it at the stores over here. The steelbook release of Alien Romulus is nice, but the slipcover is great as well. The Stir of Echoes release probably should have been a digipack. Slipcovers for steelbooks seems weird to me. I need to check out your video of Subservience, some how I missed it when it originally posted.
As I always say, I love these videos. I picked up a few things at Walmart this week myself. Thanks for sharing, Brian!
@@TheHORRORman Walmart is pretty much the only place where I can pickup physical media currently. Thanks for watching.
Yes! I'm glad you picked this up. I got my pre-order in as well. It's a beautiful edition. I really hope you enjoy it, buddy! The ending is one of the greatest in history in my opinion. Thanks for the mention by the way!
@@TheHORRORman You are very welcome my friend. I’m glad that I had caught your video on this film otherwise I would’ve ended up passing on the title.
I really want the Alien Romulus release with slipcover cause it's a pretty sweet slip for either bluray or 4k.
@@MrRobertHarding It’s my favourite slipcover of 2024 and it’s a shame that we didn’t get the it here in Canada.
Amazon is infamous for bent steelbooks.
@@HorrificNightmaresJM I agree, I was planning on ordering the steelbook release of Smile 2, but I think that I will save myself the heartache and go with the standard edition.
I was able to get both codes. Thank you.
@@matthewhale1066 You are very welcome, enjoy.
Im a Fan of watching horror movies but my two year sister doesnt like It
Awesome pick ups Brian. Happy Holidays.
@@HorrificNightmaresJM Thanks for watching and Happy Holidays to you and your family my friend.
You know why Vinegar Syndrome releases have increased in price???? They keep spending money on fancy tape!!! :P LOL I'm pretty sure I've seen this flick but for the life of me, I can't remember it
@@MrRobertHarding I’m surprised that Paramount didn’t release this as part of their Paramount Presents line. It probably wouldn’t have been as cool of a release, but it may have been cheaper.
Flushed away Finding nemo Finding dory Sing Sing 2 Coco Spongebob squarepants Trolls
Nice update and pick ups! Have a great December Brian! Keep the love and passion alive, keep that flame burning!
@@Heavymetalrille I have been difficult, but I’m trying my friend. I’m hoping to switch things up for my channel for the new year. Have a great holiday season.
That's a nice collection of goodies. I like that Guyver edition. Late night with the Devil is great. I want to get the Umbrella release of it. But I'm hoping to get a limited one on eBay. But the steelbook is tempting
@@GeekLegionofDoom I heard that the Umbrella release for Late Night with the Devil is supposed to be the superior edition. The steelbook is cool, but I am really just happy with having the film in my collection. Take care my friend.
Romulus was good but i prefer Prometheus, I love Prometheus
@@bigboss-yv2nr Prometheus is probably the most underrated film in the Alien franchise. I really enjoyed that one as well.
@@nready Nice, i suggest watching with the Ridley Scott developer commentary track which i actually did the other day. So much insight into the production in a straightforward unpretentious way, really smart director but i must say, Gladiator 2 i did NOT enjoy. His worst to date imo.
Interesting. I really like embossed slipcover on mine. It's too bad you don't have them there. If I were you, I'd just get the one available. Not worth the trip in my opinion, but that's just me. After a while, they release them without slips here anyway.
@@TheHORRORman I usually don’t care about slipcovers outside of Vinegar Syndrome releases, but the Slipcover for Romulus looks great and I have only seen it in videos. I will most likely be taking your advice though because there’s no guarantee that I would even be able to find one if I were to take the trip over to Michigan. Have a great weekend my friend.
big fan of hmv
@@יובלקונסקר This mini HMV is nice, but it doesn’t compare to the original one that I used to go to back in the day.
@nready glad to hear it
The irony. An american company that shut down in america but still operates in canada...
@@Lantern_Jack I guess that Toys R Us Canada must have separated from their American counterpart at some point.
Great vid, as always - even with the inadvertent background soundtrack mix of Kenny Loggins, followed by Motley Crue, followed by The Smiths (!?!) 😂 HANG THE DEEJAY!! 😂
@@MichaelMichalski This must have been the loudest playlist of any of the retail stores that I have ever been at. It seemed to be the worst in the HMV section of the store.
I thought I read this wrong for a second. Haha! I forgot you still have Toys R Us up there. I miss it around here. Great video, my friend!
@@TheHORRORman Yeah, we still have Toys R Us stores in Canada. I used to go there almost weekly back in the day. Thanks for watching and have a great week, my friend.
They won't last long with those prices
@@djboy3275 You’re probably right, I didn’t see anyone checking out the HMV section while I was there.
You can still get the DVDs of these movies maybe not the special editions.
Cool vid! Too bad physical media has a stronger online presence than local store
@@1428rip Yeah, I prefer buying movies out in the wild as opposed to ordering them online. Thanks for watching.
I hate that Walmart has reduced its section
@@BRONCOJUGGALOTALKSMOVIES I miss the days when Walmart had a decent movie selection. It’s at the point now where I probably have more movies in my collection than they are carrying in their store.
Awesome video ! Its great to see hunting videos from my home country especially since I am headed back next month. Is there a Sunrise in your area? Have you managed to find anything there?
@@CultofCinema There is one Sunrise Records in my area and I am planning on doing an out and about video soon. Although Sunrise can be on the expensive side I did find a couple of decent deals there. I picked up the Blu-Ray of Pig for $8. Happy Thanksgiving my friend.
@@nready Happy Thsnksgiving! I am hoping to get into Sunrise and a few other places, get a Canadian haul out and about done. Looking forwaard to your Sunrise video !
Nice Movie Hunting Video there Brian, interesting stuff. That's surprising Walmart would be selling the boutique label version of the original Halloween, usually they just have generic releases and a few classic TV series boxsets. Gawd, do I miss the glory days of Movies Unlimited all those years back, very few places left for the film buffs like us. Take care bud, hope you're well, and speak to you soon.
@@tvnash I was surprised to see Scream Factory titles at my local Walmart as well. It’s been a few years since they had carried their releases. I have never heard of Movies Unlimited. Sounds like they must have been a great place to go hunting for movies. Media Play was my number one go to for movies back in the day. I wish that I had gotten a chance to do an out and about video there before they closed down. Have a great week my friend.
In a Violent Nature was initially released on DVD only a few weeks back. I believe the Blu-Ray was only released last Tuesday. MaXXXine was my favorite of that trilogy. Great video, buddy! I always enjoy these.
@@TheHORRORman Thanks for the heads up on In Violent Nature. I’m not expecting my local Walmart to carry the Blu-Ray release. It’s a Canadian film so I’m expecting that Raven Banner might get the rights for Canadian release. I’m really looking forward to watching MaXXXine as I did enjoy both X and Pearl. Take care my friend.
When Saturn 3 Chopping Mall Class of 1999 Death Machine and Evolver Sci-fi Chiller New Collection DVD ?
I had a feeling Hush was the one you regretted buying. Haha! That's always the way, isn't it? You buy something like this and then an official release is announced immediately after. It's ridiculous that Hellraiser and Barbarian don't have official releases. Great pick-ups, buddy!
@@TheHORRORman Hush had been out for a while so I wasn’t expecting a Blu-Ray release for the movie. The film had been on my watch list for years and was gone by the next that I went to watch it on Netflix. I agree with you about Barbarian and Hellraiser, both films should have been released to Blu-Ray back in 2022. Take care my friend.
Nice video as usual Brian, cool presentation as always. Never heard of this particular company before, but I have heard of places similar to them like Stinky Tuna, which did a much better job in releases overall. Normally I try to avoid gray market releases as you can never tell how serious and legitimate they are in catering to cinema lovers, but I have been hearing quite a few good things about some of the fan made stuff over the last couple of years, including Stinky Tuna, and I would consider going that route on some shows. Normally I'm quality over quantity, but I'm open to the occasional exception to that rule. Take care buddy, hope you're well, and speak to you soon.
@@tvnash I generally don’t like burn on demand Blu-Rays, but I have been waiting for a proper release for Barbarian and Hellraiser (2022) for a while. I did watch Hush last night and it looks great.
Great pick ups Brian.
@@HorrificNightmaresJM Thanks Ja!!
They could at the very least have printed some artwork and title on those discs, but oh well, some of those movies are stuck in digital hell so one does not have much choice when it comes to some of them. I am really not the biggest fan of our digital and streaming reality and world we find ourselves in, the downsides and negative aspects are becoming more clearer by the day. Enjoy your movies good sir and get ready for October!
@@Heavymetalrille I was disappointed when I found out about the lack of disc art on these releases. However, I am happy to finally have physical copies for both Barbarian and the latest Hellraiser movie. I don’t mind streaming when it comes to TV series, but I feel that there shouldn’t be any streaming exclusives for films. I have a few horror movies that I have set aside to watch for this Halloween season. Take care and friend.
Have you heard of Stinky Tuna, they do a similar thing, but the discs have art
@@GeekLegionofDoom I have heard of Stinky Tuna, but I was under the impression that they weren’t around anymore. I watched Hush last night and the picture quality was very good.
@@nready oh maybe they have stopped trading. I'm not sure
Dope bro
@@BRONCOJUGGALOTALKSMOVIES Thanks for watching my friend.
It is always worth having a look, but it is sad seeing that they do not push the horror titles the way they should or used to for Halloween season. Hope there will be some suprises to come, you never know Brian. Never give up the hunt my friend! Keep the love and passion alive!
@@Heavymetalrille I miss the days when Walmart would put out their Halloween bin every year. I will have to see what Sunrise Records has planned for this Halloween season. Hopefully they will have some decent stuff. Take care my friend.
I haven't been to mine in a bit. Doesn't seem like they have a lot. Great video Brian.
@@HorrificNightmaresJM My local Walmart hasn’t been carrying many movies for a while. However, they still have been getting new horror movies at the beginning of every month.
Dude Walmart sucks
@@djboy3275 I can’t argue with your statement. Walmart’s Movie section has been a shadow of its former self for years now.
Man, Halloween used to be THE time of year at Walmart and other stores for horror DVDs. I miss those days, even though I'm not actively collecting any more. Sad to see the minimal selection and no classics at all...😢
@@MichaelMichalski I really miss those days as well. I guess that there aren’t regular people buying movies to warrant a proper movie section anymore.
Interesting that your Walmart has the Immaculate Blu-Ray. I ended up picking up the DVD because that's all my local stores had. Still haven't watched it yet, though. Great video, my friend!
@@TheHORRORman I am going to have to look this movie up. I know that its plot is similar to The First Omen which is supposed to be decent so I’m hoping that Immaculate will be decent as well. Have a great rest of your week my friend.
Most of the new films in the last 20 or so years haven't interested me much, but it's nice that places like Walmart and Target still have Blu Ray and 4K sections. Even Walmart's decorating too early for Halloween, I can see the last week of September, but jeez. Take care Brian, hope you're well, and speak to you soon.
@@tvnash I agree. I too have become more interested in picking up older films in the last few years. My Walmart has had its Halloween display up since the end of August.
I stopped going to my Wal Mart they never ever have any of the newest releases so now I ordered my movies I just recently got Late Night with the Devil was good 👍🏻 I wish I could get more but I can only get one or two a month that’s all my funds can allow sadly but good to see you thanks for sharing take care my friend 😃
@@kathys1285 I placed an order for Late Night with the Devil before it went out of stock, but I haven’t received a shipment confirmation yet. I’m starting to think that Amazon is going to end up canceling my order if the title doesn’t get restocked. The thing they sucks about the situation is that the movie doesn’t have a Canadian release yet and I pretty sure that we won’t be getting a limited edition steelbook version when it finally gets released over here. I can understand why you stopped shopping for movies at Walmart. They haven’t been consistent with their movie selection for years now. Thanks for watching.
good to see you! I spy a Godzilla x Kong! (^_^). btw, what did you think of Barbarian? my wife and I rented it on date night and were quite impressed. It was unexpected and very much enjoyed by us!
Barbarian is my favourite horror movies of 2022. I wish that there was a proper physical release for the film.

Dope man
@@BRONCOJUGGALOTALKSMOVIES Thanks for watching, I hope that you had a great holiday weekend.
Great pick ups Brian! You got some really good ones. I had my fair share of damaged steelbooks and it is always a bummer and pretty much not worth it buyng steelbooks unless it is with a bunch of other movies and shipped togheter. Sweet steelboks and many good movies and editions! Horror season is soon upon us, i can feel it in the air :)
@@Heavymetalrille I almost didn’t order the Evil Dead steelbook because of what had happened last time. October is usually my favourite time of year for horror movie hunting, but with my local Cinema 1 closing down, it won’t be as much fun.
Awesome pick ups Brian. Last time I got a steelbook from Amazon it was damaged as well.
@@HorrificNightmaresJM The worst thing was that I got the steelbook for a great price, but it had sold out so I had to settle for a refund.
That Evil Dead and TCm Steelbooks are sweet. I watched Death Machine on VHS. I thought the Sect was ok, but not as good as The Church
@@GeekLegionofDoom I wasn’t originally planning on picking up either of the steelbook releases, but I couldn’t pass up on them when I saw that they were available. Death Machine wasn’t as good as I had remembered it being, but I’m happy to have it in my collection I need to revisit The Church, it’s been years since I last saw the movie.
