E36 diff swap and 14mm front bolt upgrade
Swapping from a welded 3.91 to a welded 3.15 to see how it feels. With the T56 transmission that i have it goes better with the gearing. Also I had to drill/tap for the 14mm front bolt.
You will have to either drill or replace your front diff bushing to accommodate the larger diameter bolt. I chose to drill mine but its a pain in the a$$ and i recommend just replacing the bushing

    Is it possible to shift without the clutch? Yes. Should you? Probably not. The clutch protects your engine and transmission when shifting by matching shaft speeds and dampening any shock that might occur. You have to be extremely precise to change gears without the clutch or risk damaging the transmission. Better to replace a clutch eventually! Cool demonstration though. I have a new car so I wouldn't dare try this. Lol

      What i meant by this was, I have never ever ever (in all my 13 years of driving manual OLD cars) had to replace a clutch. Every time something happened with a manual transmission of mine it had something to do with the bearings, or the clutch fork. Every clutch disk i have ever pulled out of a car had another 100k worth of material left on it. Idk what you guys are doing to your cars but your clutch should not just "burn out"

Upshifting: float in neutral, let rpms drop approx. 1000rpms, and shift. and vice versa for downshifting:float in N, RAISE the rpms that same amount by tapping the gas, and it should slip right in. • @danielnikolov6482
      @danielnikolov6482 8 месяцев назад

      Yes. Anything newer breaks wayyyyy easier. These old beaters are made with steel parts and a motor that isn't squeezed out to its last drop of sweat, thus causing alot less strain on the drive shaft, transmission etc. New cars parts are made of composite alloys, predominantly containing aluminium and other softer "lighter" materials. Also manufacturers these days make a 3 cylinder, unbalanced, 1.5 give you the same power as a 4 / 6 cylinder 2 l from back in the days - the result - parts wear and generally break faster, as well as everything else in the car is under immense load every time you want to accelerate faster than a granny. On top of that, modern cars have more sophisticated computers and cynchros which means you are likely to confuse the gearbox / ECU if you shift without a clutch, meaning the car is likely to either push out an error code ( think of it as lights coming up on the dash) , as well as try to stop you from doing it, either by restricting your power, or giving it more gas (automatically) , in order to "precent you from stalling" , which would ruin your rev match and thus likely to grind while you're floating gears. In short - yes! 😂 Also, note that this is an old Honda. #They don't make them like this anymore...

The only thing with cars is the transmission are not as tough so floating really isn't practical because if you mess up it damages the transmission so you will be clutchin between shifts.
