Is the title of this piece "San Liu Ban"《三六板》or "San Liu"《三六》? You list both titles.
His announcement and program list are also two different types, which makes me very uncomfortable, so I also wrote both types.
Some Web pages list Xia Baochen's dates as 1902-1956 or 1903-1956, but you list them as 1901-1957. What can explain this discrepancy, and are there reliable sources that can settle the matter of this pipa master's correct years of birth and death?
关于他的生卒年,我一直在确定,但是网上的资料非常的混乱,前几天我找到了一份悼念性的信件,详细记录了他的出生年月1901年10月∽1957年1月,这份残破信件是1983年江南丝竹协会纪念他写的 I have been confirming his birth and death years, but the information online is very confusing. A few days ago, I found a memorial letter that detailed his birth date from October 1901 to January 1957. This broken letter was written in 1983 by the Jiangnan Silk and Bamboo Association in memory of him

Hao Yifan put nylon-wrapped steel strings on a Qing Dynasty pipa?
Is it the "Zhang Bonian" pipa (“张伯年”琵琶) and is Hao Yifan using silk strings in this performance? If you take the time and care to add an informative video description above, everyone will be able to learn more.
No, this is another one I posted on Facebook.

The timbre is broad and warm, hardly resembling that of today's harsh and brittle-sounding pipa.

Lacking a date on the recording manifest, should we assume that this set of recordings was made sometime in the 1950s?

I also speculated that way, but there is no evidence to prove it
@@song-zhu-zhai I see, maybe additional evidence will emerge to help narrow down the date, and the Music Research Institute probably has additional information in its records.
I never knew Lin Shicheng played the sanxian.
In Chinese silk and bamboo bands, as a musician, you must know several instruments. In addition to playing the sanxian, Lin also has the erhu
@@song-zhu-zhai True, though this versality and well-rounded training is less common among today's conservatory-trained musicians, who have little experience or understanding of the "silk and bamboo club" environment.

Yes in the photo, the Japanese koto has changed from thirteen strings to sixteen strings, and the audio is another piano. Since there is no photo, we can only use this photo as a substitute

It's interesting that he's playing in E diao rather than the more usual F diao, but maybe tuning standards were different or more flexible back then, or the speed of the tape has changed.
