This game was my favourite. I grew up with it and I was still young when suddenly all the figures became more and more rare in my local stores. I was so sad when I couldn’t find any Disney infinity content anymore. I tried playing Lego dimensions but it just wasn’t the same.

Honestly, looking at this story, I hold back tears of joy, sadness and nostalgia, I used to play almost daily on my ps3 and wii, I even still own all the 1.0 figurines, even the crystals, but after 3.0, I forgot of it, especially since I was burnt out and had forgotten what fun it was. But recently I was interested in learning why toys to life failed, and know knowing it was multiple factors I feel saddened, a genre I grew up with dead is a sad thing, but allas, such is all.

doom did it really good. they Just did a full on reboot and Made a Game that fit into the modern day while still havimg the Same core of the old Games (shoot monsters and Arena Like Levels).

Sequels *can* be good if they are done correctly. Dying Light 2 and Dead Island 2 both use the last games lore, but in a new setting, with new characters. To me, a sequel becomes bad if you overly-rely off of the same aspects of the last game, like trying to expand a already flushed out character.

My wife bought the Wii U right at launch and wrapped it up for Christmas. Throughout 2013, I remember playing a lot of Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros. U, and waiting for some blockbuster games to be released that would justify the new Wii console. That summer at Wal-Mart, I would hear the trailer music for Disney Infinity looping in the Electronics section, and I thought that even if it was a third-party cross-platform game, it would give the Wii U a little bit of a boost. My wife and I never really got into Disney Infinity before it died, but we got started with 2.0 and downloaded 1.0 for free, and we collected a few figures that we liked. I'm glad Tron was added to 3.0, but it needed more characters.

cs2 wasn't actually a bad idea, it was just released very early. it's a bit good because source 2 is actually good for map makers

RIP This was such an innovative franchise with tons of creativity and talented developers, it honestly deserved so much better... 😔 Hopefully it'll get revived one day with more focus on quality over quantity, especially so long as Activision doesn't have control over it.

Ironically Amiibo was the only one that survived due it not being over used in games and being less toys put on box’s too spawn characters and more cool status that you can add bonus content too your Wii U or well now switch without it being required for a game

I loved these games as a teen. I have so many good memories of playing it when i got off school. So sad to hear why it fell but after hearing about it it makes sense.

Personally if I were to bring the franchise back I’d release a remastered version of the first 4 games for new consoles to bring back old fans and introduce the franchise to a new generation. The twist would be that it would all be completely digital and you wouldn’t need buy any figures to play the game. You’d unlock characters when you unlock their soul gems in the different levels but you’d start the game out with the starter pack characters already unlocked. I would also make it where you could plug and of your old portals into your console and scan your old figures in and you’d unlock certain gear and cosmetics only available through your old figures, kinda like what Nintendo does with amiibo’s where you don’t need them to play the game. I would save the introduction of the light and dark elements and have that be the gimmick of the new story, story wise superchargers and imaginators would be completely retconned and Kaos’ story as a villain would end with him being trapped in trap team
