Best VALUE 12” Sliding Miter Saw? METABO HPT
I purchased the Metabo HPT 12” Sliding Miter Saw. I want to unbox it, set it up and check its accuracy. Through that process, some fine tuning was needed, and some watchouts for anyone looking to purchase a 12” sliding miter saw. I check accuracy by doing test cuts and checking with a machinist square and digital angle gauge. I compare it to various other options on paper including Bosch, Makita, Festool, Hercules, and Rigid. Looking at features, cutting capacity, dust collection, detents, cost, etc.

So Ryobi beat Ryobi. Great. I will stick with DeWalt and Milwaukee.
@@jk-kr8jt you do you
Did you end up fixing it? I just got mine and same thing happens when the switch is in the middle
@@TonyCantShoot Not yet, I switched over to some woodworking projects. I was going to take apart and soak in ATF to lubricate. I'll try to get to that this week and I'll drop you a comment if it helped.
If you want more power, use seesii with makita 4 or 5 Ah or something else, Because seesii battery is not 4Ah. It is acutely 3Ah and isn't branded. It has 10x 1500mah 18650 battery's. The best battery that you can finde in Amazon for these seesii tools is Ework 6Ah oder 4Ah battery. It has good price and power in compar with Makita battery.
@@kazemhokm9605 Good info. Thanks for sharing. I've seen torque test channel show better performance with Makita but didn't know about Ework!
I think the problem with the impact chuck is the SeeSii has a JIS chuck instead of a regular one. Just stuff something about 1/8 inside the chuck and it should fix that problem. Just look up JIS impact chucks and there is a great deal of information about them available.
@@ElishaAsbury Very interesting. A little research and maybe a Makita PN A-44672 stuffed in there is what is needed. Never saw any information from SeeSii that this is a JIS style impact chuck, but it makes sense. Thanks for sharing.
@@ClassicActWorkshop that could work or some people will just stuff a little rubber plug in there so that it stay. The benefit to using rubber is you can use a screw to get it back out and it does not fall out like the little chuck of metal.
What kind of idiot buys new bolts for an alternator pure stupidity obviously you love to waste money
Seesii are a fly by night junk tool company, ..wanna cheap tools go with DCK(Dong Cheng), at least they're legit large power tools manufacturers from China. Also they're OEM manufacturers for Makita & Bosch....
@@AlexY2-b6y 👍 The 12v DCK drill is my go-to woodworking drill these days. I agree on DCK, but don't think there is good contact information to warranty a DCK product if needed, but I could be wrong.
Yoo just put a black tape over the light and keep on driving
@@Ping-i9f 😂 I ignored a license plate bulb for years, but I won't risk that with an alternator warning.
@ClassicActWorkshop just kidding man. He should've disconnected the battery first before removing the alternator so he don't damage the ECM.

@@winner1604 Thanks. I have videos for a boat and trailer to go with the truck and a helicopter. Monster truck is a good idea but I will probably be doing an excavator or digger next.

@@CaptNash I try. 250k would be nice.
not true! mine is better maintained M54 engine 80k miles :)
@zontarr22-zon at 80k miles you should only need oil changes. I've had 2 M54s as well. Good engines, but the oil pump gear scares me for high rpm use.
@@ClassicActWorkshop I dont rpm it a lot , mostly in overtakes in some situations and 5000rmp max. I do every 4k miles oil changes that look like brown olive oil when I take it out, I has no leaks or ticking noises or any vibrations. I replaced the thermostat and the coolant with original BMW blue one and the oil pressure hose with original parts, 2 new original spring on the back and rocket gasket and the oil filter housing gasket with new original ones, now engine is spotless and I have no rust anywhere around or under the car. Seriously, from all the cars I had and much newer, this one is the best build, feels in metal material used on it and even the plastic is high quality. really love it and I have 26.9 mpg :) and is cold around here, always with auto clima on. :)
@@zontarr22-zon nice, both m54 cars I had needed oil filter housing gaskets as well. Nice cars when they are maintained for sure.
Muito bom.
Wonder if an IGUS bearing would be a good fix. They have some that a good for food contact and have good sideload rating. Mine is now overheating and has had some black stuff and metal flakes at its end of its life. May have around 400 or so runs on it. Ninja did replace it, but it will be just time before the new one dies the same death.
Yeah, I think you would just have to swap out the bearing before the shaft gets messed up. If the shaft gets scored, I would think it would ruin a new bearing pretty quick unless you resurface the shaft too.
Lube issue Soak the head in some atf for a day I use it on my ratchets and it smooths them out and the selector doesn’t move all over. Works wonders on the old craftsman ones
@@j.miller5565 Someone else said that as well. This is how they came out of the box, but I'll definitely open them up and try. I have some older Craftsman's that could probably use some TLC from old age too.
why did they get rid of the led lights around the face? stupid
@@HueManna yeah, fair point. You look more top down and the light coming from the other direction is annoying when dark.
are the compact tools the gen 2? 😳
@@heavyspam1 Model numbers are in the video. These would be gen1.
Original project farm video: ruclips.net/video/thLm3y3HjYI/видео.htmlsi=eraYDvQe-Y4Z9nAv
Sounds like a lubrication issue. The pawl spring in ratchets can get jammed and not return properly. You can hear the metal on metal sound when in neutral and the heavy clicky tooth engagement in the video which are signs of a lack of lubrication. Could also just be a weak spring. If lube doesn't fix it a heavier spring could.
Thanks for the advice. That's how they came out of the box, but I'll definitely open one up and see if I can lubricate it or see about a stiffer spring.

Wow…..thanks again for putting this comparison out. I was set on the brushless compact driver….but because of this, I’ll hold off and stick with my drill before looking at an impact driver. Once I find the need, I’ll go for the big dawg driver. Outstanding work!
@@kingtutt61 Thanks, much appreciated. Glad it was helpful. I was very surprised myself with the result, but as mentioned I typically use drills and not impact drivers.
@@ClassicActWorkshop I really like the HP, Compact series. I love the feel and lighter weight. Especially good for a DYIer. I’ll get the HP, Compact drill and try that awhile. Later, if I need an impact driver , I’ll go with the HP, Big dawg instead of the compact. Thanks again!
Bro there are so many places in Florida alone that have a really low cost of living!! Think the nature coast!
Where at? I'm trying to get tf out of Oklahoma
Wew, youre right. Its SO bad down here. SO BAD. An alligator ate my wife this morning as she tried to escape 2 hurricanes, its real. Please save yourself and never move here, its only for the best, and for your safety!!!

You should open up a claim that water is cat 3 have the insurance pay for it
Not as many gators as you’d think 😂
I watched a pro water-skier hit one over the weekend on a tournament webcast. Idk man 😂
Yes don’t move south whatever you do please
TOO MANY LIBERALS in the north for me!!!!!
yeah. better just stay where you are. The South is full.
Thank you for not being another statistic!
Lived in Wisconsin. Now in oklahoma. Its not that bad. Lol
at least you know your getting a Republican Governor....North ummm nope.
Did you really use cost of living as an excuse? Stay up north please
I live on the Texas coast see gators almost daily and have caught a handful of them never had an issue lol hurricanes are a mild inconvenience. Cost of living isn’t bad at all
Cost is lower, gas is $2.49. alligators only in Florida for some reason
There are gators in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and the Carolinas
There’s a swap or a lake down south, there’s a gator in it.

He pulled the trigger at then end and it waited a whole second the drill never started shits crazy slow
For sure. I don't like any of the new Ryobi triggers even the ones from the brushless models.
Thanks…..I’m just starting my shopping for a cordless platform as a DIYer. Looks like I’m going with Ryobi and have decided on the HP brushless series. After watching this, I’m still having a hard time deciding between the Normal size or the compact. I think your assessment with if you have only one drill, go with the compact ….is a good one. Especially that I’m a DIY and am not doing this as a pro. If I later see I need the extra power, I’ll look at something different. I’m assuming this would be your same decision on the impact driver….stay with the compact series, unless the compact is a dog or you anticipate needing a much stronger compact.?
@@kingtutt61 this is a great lead in. I am hoping to upload the impact driver video Saturday. I'll give you a heads up, the compact impact driver is significantly slower than the bigger model. Might recommend waiting for the video to draw your own conclusion for how you plan to use them.
@ Wow……great timing. I will definitely wait. BTW, I’m subscribed with all bells on. Looking forward to watching your other videos. 😀
Much appreciated. The impact driver test will post tomorrow at 10:30est

19 months for a ryobi is wild lmfao

@@AlexY2-b6y I really like the 12v for most woodworking stuff. I have 3. Just did a video comparing performance of 18v ryobis to the 12v DCK.
I mean, yeah. Changing the oil on just about anything is easy. I thought maybe you were going to do some actual mechanical work.
@@MalcomHeavy probably in the future
Nice riser gaskets bud. Gonna need new exhaust manifolds soon.
I think the lighting made them look worse than they are. Should be good for a while, but when they go I might bite the bullet for aluminum.
I apologize in advance if it should be pronounced rEEobi. Old habits die hard.
As an automotive service technician; I do not consider changing the oil as "working on it." To me, that's just standard maintenance, like adding gas to the tank. I thought you were going to show how to actually work on it; like replacing the rear main seal or the timing. Beautiful boat and cool video nonetheless.
@@schrodingerscat4737 sure, more trying to show people a common task like an oil change is easier than you might expect from dealer cost. As an auto tech though you can see how easy access to the engine would make a lot of jobs much easier than a car.
This vid is just dumb. Some boats are easy and some are more difficult just like with cars. You're trying to address a fake point that literally has nothing to stand or float on.
@@coronalight77 Sure, but marinas pull a premium even on easy to work on boats like this.
Kids are actually easy to take care of! *hands toddler a bottle* See?!
@@rocketseth fair enough. I have 2 young kids. Please let me go work on boats for mental sanity.
Of all the boats out there a direct drive ski boat is by far the easiest to maintain. Now do the rope seal. it's a Malibu so how's the fuel gage is it flinching between 1/8th increments? Is the bilge working, dose it need new audio wires replace due to corrosion. Of all the things the boat has to work on you chose the one job that a shop dose in 15 mins
@@MarkZuhl and how much does a shop charge for that? I've had more issues with the Malibu and medallion oil pressure gauge than fuel. Heater core has been bypassed so I may get that going next and replace some old crusty blower vent.
