I discovered this method by accident way back on Thanksgiving of 1997. I had just got my first turkey fryer and had boiled my taters for mashing. I grabbed one as a snack, but accidentally dropped it into the fryer while I was out checking the turkey. Lol! We've had them at least once a week since. I decided to search "deep fried whole potatoes" just to see if it was actually a thing. Apparently, it is!

I just received a BF-UV10R. Was advertised as 8W radio, now see ads say 10W (saw obvious bogus ad saying 80W). I have tested on good watt meter with good DC-1GHz small 50 Ohm dummy load, cannot get more than 5W as other UV5Rs. Had friend get a UV9R, ad said 10W, label under battery said 16W, watt meter said 5W. In all test checked menu for high power and was in HIGH. I like the UV5R, nice HT does what I need, but seems there are a lot of liars out there selling these.

why didnt u just get a uv-5r if u was gonna use it as a scanner ??? there 17 dollas and that radio only gives 1 watts more for extra 12 dollas ?

I have seen these on Wish and stating they are 900 W max and can transmit 500 KM MAX is this EVEN possible ?

You can use a program called CHARP to program that HT and that is a Ham Radio
