Hi, thank you a lot for this video, as there is not much content in the internet about using non-starlink cables. So the bottomline, I can use any (good quality) CAT7 ethernet cable to route the gen3 dishy to the gen3 router, right?

What did you wire that 3rd ground wire (to earth) to? Wouldn’t the positive and negative from the battery be enough?

bracket to pole is w bolt looks very sketchy as you said - wind will loosen - im making a bracket for a van that is locked in place using top rear door - to remove open door

You can weather seal the connection with dielectric grease. I used a Q-tip for this. Put the grease "around" the plug, not on the end where the electrical current passes.

Thousands of people from Canada and US travel to Baja for the winter months. (Jan thru April). With the old Roam Package, service was covered for these months. With the new Roam, only 60 days is covered. After that the equivalent plan is $250 for 50GB and 1$ for each additional. I personally used 400GB a month last year in Baja. That would make my bill after 60 days $600. If I choose the unlimited Roam, it would be $1000 a month. I have had my Starlink for not even a year, and this is the 2nd price hike.

Can you put a link for the mount?

Newer mount is deeper with two screws rather than one. More stable IMO. However, the mount itself that attaches to the antenna can easily come off which should have included a screw down of the bracket to the antenna to make it more secure. People who designed this was more concerned about aesthetics rather than durability. Take a look at the design of DishNetwork or DirectTV mounts; you'll understand what I mean.

I had Viasat and had 18mbps and with starkink it's 190mbps! Way better.

You should mention that Dewalt batteries do not have a low voltage cutout (LVC) in them. Adding an external cutout board is suggested so one does not over-discharge those batteries and cause damage.

Wow, I like but have a couple questions, if you have time. I have an Ethos LI, with the 48 volt lithium battery system and love it. Recently purchased the starlink Gen 3 and designed away to mount on top of the Class B van. Tomorrow taking to RV place to have the wire ran from roof top to a selected spot in van. Question, since I have a 48 volt system is it possible to get rid of power supply and go dirct from batteries to the router? If so, what would I need to do? Again, thanks for your time.

Thank you very much for the video. Did you test, how much worse the speed is, when the Starlink mini is just flat-mounted on the roof, without and angled mount? Would be interesting to see whether or not flat-mount works, because I would find it rather annoying to set up the mount every time. THX!
