    Jacob, I see that the majority of your fields are linked to sheet set manager properties. Does a company have to develop there own SSM template in order to fully utilize your process?

    • @duckworksmw
      @duckworksmw Месяц назад

      Hey Lee, there shouldn't be any fields referencing Sheet Set Manager properties, only Document or System variable fields. The template is currently setup just to work with Microvellum User Defined Properties through the Update Title Block tool, and AutoCAD native fields. It could be adapted to work with Sheet Set, but you would need to set that up by prepulating the block attributes with the Sheet Set fields that you wanted from your dst template. I have some videos on our youtube about SheetSet, and we may put out a version of the template that works that way in the future!

    This is interesting. Question. On a hospital type project how do you organize and print / publish drawings if you have Plans / Elevations / Section for each room? We are drawing the entire job in 1 file currently to be able to consolidate and use details without duplication them over and over again.

    • @duckworksmw
      @duckworksmw Месяц назад

      Hey Troy! In a large project, or really any project, we recommend utilizing BATCHPLOT, for publishing your drawings. This is a native AutoCAD tool, that is also available in Microvellum Toolbox OEM, and makes it simple to select which DWGS or rooms, that you want to publish or plot from, as well as select only the layouts or pages that you want to include. If you're using Microvellum to draw your sections, reusing them isn't as necessary across rooms, but it is still possible to simply copy a section from one room to another, or just reference the typical section in your section tag when desired, and not repeat the section in each room. www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-publish-multiple-drawings-into-PDF-in-AutoCAD.html

    in doing room by room how would you do an overall print?

    • @duckworksmw
      @duckworksmw Месяц назад

      Hi! You can use Publish or Batchplot tool to print from multiple drawings. What's nice is you can selectively choose the rooms you want to include, or choose all of them, and even select or deselect individual layout pages. www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-publish-multiple-drawings-into-PDF-in-AutoCAD.html

    For a design "tool" Microbellum is such a tedious rockface face software. I mean the interface and workflow are dreadful. is a rip-off of Autocad squashed into Excel boxes. Is like wasting all the power and peace of 3d modelling and 2d drawing into silly boxes and tiny letters. No wonder the Chinese will take over not just in fabrication but in software too.

    I grew up in the Midwest, and the term "millwork" to me always meant working with wood. As an adult, I moved to NC. After being here for a short while, I had a conversation with a guy who said he did millwork then he let me go on for quite a while about my experience with millwork and workers in the industry before telling me he had no idea what I was talking about, since he did millwork and that meant he was in a textile mill! Pretty embarassing!

    To Jonathan Blackburn, I appreciate what your company is doing for the millwork and architecture industries, and am looking forward to utilizing your modeling program. I was however very disheartened to see that you are choosing to promote a company like Wayfair, especially when many of the businesses that utilize your program will likely be small scale manufacturers who themselves make furniture. Wayfair's savvy business model enables them to offer low prices. However, it's important to recognize that cheap comes at a cost, and it's usually not the merchandiser who bears the burden. In many ways, Wayfair resembles fast fashion brands like Shein, Zara, or Temu, where low prices are achieved through questionable practices, such as pressuring suppliers to lower prices, which can ultimately lead to exploitative labor conditions. I implore you to reconsider this ethical issue. Best, Nora Rolf

    First off, thanks for posting this video. I noticed at 13.33, that after you made a change to the prompts, the database name did not change. My question is will this pose any problem? I started building some materials awhile back but stopped after noticing the same thing.

    • @duckworksmw
      @duckworksmw Год назад

      Hey Troy! Glad you found the video helpful! Great eye! No this will not pose any problem. The database name essentially shows what the formula is evaluating to in your template spec groups, which doesn't have any affect at the project level. Basically that version is still just looking to the default prompts in my Template Wizard in this example and that's why it is still evaluating that way. That is the beauty of formula driven materials!

      I did but couldn't find anything related to the problem i am having. If i make the top shadow rail zero, it doesn't adjust the door sizes nor makes the shadow rail equal on the drawers. Do you have a solution for that or do i do it manually from the edit design tool?
