I’m the only guitarist in a junior high jazz band and we have to do this song because “I have potential” we have a performance tmrw kinda scared

This is actually a pretty good arrangement.

Kids tend to rush the stomping. I had my band practice stomping to tempo while I was shouting "LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT RIGHT ..." until it got a little bit better. Also, this piece requires each section to know when they should play louder than the rest of the band and when they should yield to the more interesting parts. This song is a good introduction to the intricacies of playing music in a group.
