I've kicked D&D out of the top bunk and have gone all-in for Dragonbane. Started my 5-person group last Friday. Picked up a one-shot adv on Drive Thru RPG (Treasures in the Deep) just to get their feet wet and form the group. Combat is much more engaging then D&D as teamwork and timing is emphasized. In 7 rounds my players faced both an octopus and a sea serpent and SO many close calls resulted in that short of time (3 of those rounds were them frantically trying to outswim the serpent). Also, Free League makes the best physical products. Period. Great video, keep them up!

Lead author here. 0:40 - Copyright among other issues, yeah. 0:57 - Those "buttons" are Droyne coyns - though they could be used as buttons too. 1:30 - It's got nothing to do with the game mechanics, but it's there for the players who lean toward the hard side of science fiction and make plot (or sometimes feed back into the mechanics, such as evaluating difficulty) out of the science. 2:07 - "I can run two adventures just off that picture" is exactly the feel we were going for! 2:22 - There are multiple characters threaded through the art and anecdotes, offered as inspiration. The psionic ship's cat is one of them. (Look for other pictures with a cat.) 3:28 - FYI, most of those pet images were from a bestiary article I wrote for JTAS. Quite a bit of supplemental material was cut, and used for JTAS articles instead. Thank you for your review! :)

I would try to run A Time to Harvest as a sequel to Blackwater Creek (one of the scenarios from the Keeper's Screen Pack). Some of the events in A Time to Harvest could be the result of the events of Blackwater Creek, and players could easily pick up on that.
