Repair Of Spin Cycle Not Drying Clothes for Top Load Whilpool/Kenmore Washing Machines

Travis and Amy are fixing the washing machine. It no longer spins properly so the clothes are still dripping wet after it's done. A little research, 50bucks, and a few hours later and she's like new! We don't show the whole process of disassembly/reassembly, there's lots of videos that show that, but I couldn't find any about the clutch used for the spin cycle. Somethings different with new insinkerators, they seem to be failing at higher rates, and the continued use of "galvanized steel" is a step in the wrong direction. I love supporting American made products but not when its guaranteed early failure

I bought Waste King 3/4 hp with 10 years warranty in July 2013. Never installed until 2021 and , it died in November 2023. It started tripping the breaker when turned on (it did not have any leak). I disassembled it trying to figure out the issue and it looks exactly same as what you showed when trying to connect yours at the bottom. They refused to give me slack on the warranty. I was between InSinkErrator and Moen, but went with Moen GXS75C simply because it has 10 years warranty (InSinkErrator also has 10 years warranty on some of their disposal but the price is much more expensive than similar ones from Moen) and I had very good experience with Moen warranty on many plumbing accessories in my house. . I also believe Waste King is part of Moen now. The rusted "Galvanized" parts and screws I saw when disassembled mine made me suspicious of anything that brags "Galvanized". I believe they're all the same junk anyway, let it be Waste King, Moen or whatever, I just went with what's available hoping better luck with the new one

DIY is cool sometimes. In this case, the little money you saved was definitely not worth it using the wrong tools. You made this look very dangerous. The shop is getting very expensive, but they have the right tools for the job and they do it on a regular basis. I don't have the patience for this kind of stuff.

As just a small point, the lead screws do not properly support the race for the bearing on the inside of the table. Go and look at the specs for those, these screws don't even begin to come close to providing the needed support. Do an internet search for say the SKF 51102 bearing set and you will see what I am talking about. I have the same problem on a really cheap Chinese X-Y table that I am working with on my channel. I am going to have to add support for the inner bearing. I also had problems with the factory ball bearings and so have gone to roller bearings. Nice work on identifying your problems with this table.

I have one that starting not hold. It eased down with a load. I rebuilt it and it continued with the same problem. Finally, I tightened the "DO NOT ADJUST" screws/plugs and counted the turns. I pumped the handle and it did nothing. I eased off the screw and ti started working. It held up the front of a tractor for hours. I believe that this was the problem all along. If I had tightened down on the "DO NOT ADJUST" screws before I rebuilt it, that may have been all it needed.

No I didn't count them, but it should mostly fill the indention where they go, there was the space of about 3/4 of a ball left with all of them in a wheel. It will be ok if you are missing a couple for the wheels, that won't matter much.
