I find the Sunday 11.00 changing of the guard very emotional with the band playing

@@4WanderingSolesAdventures Remarkable changes? Not really, no. That part of Stavanger hasen't changed so much. (I do remember cranes on tracks along the harbour, and trains for loading/unloading cargo directly from the ships - the tracks are still there I believe). Given the limited time ashore as a cruise tourist I think you did the right thing, strolling "Gamle Stavanger" and pedestrian streets near the harbour. Mayby next time visit Stavanger Cathedral. Built in 1125 and still used as intended - as a church. The big attractions here are the fjords not the city itself). 🙂
