"On Killing." Lt. Col. Dave Grossman
This is horrifying.
Why?
What if the person who has died has the same birthday as another person in the same year?
This a good and fundamental lessons for chaplains. I like it.
N Kenya Chaplaincy is yet to be appreciated as necessary to support vulnerable situations. Catherine Ngambi
This is Catherine Ngambi, kenyan student of Chaplaincy. Very timely information that brings insights
The way police administrations are now in these days they dont have respect even for religious people and the tow the politicly correct line
The part about the gun being a "partner" was eye-opening

Super!
Thank you ! Sir, My department is taking this very Important Training and Service. GOD bless
I am a felon saved by grace will this hold me back for chaplaincy?
I pray that it will not hold you back
Trust Jesus, leave it in His care. If the Lord want's to open the door for you, He will lead the way and will plant you (From an ex chaplain).
The world will still do a background on you sorry get into prison ministry or regular church ministry
I think that would make you a better chaplain in some ways for certain people. You could help a lot of criminals reform their life. That's important.
Is it possible to get the outlines you used for the training sessions?
I am a Chaplain in training in East Texas and these are great! Thank you. I wish I had availbility to the written workbook. God bless you!
Thank you so much for posting these trainings!
Do you have training materials and workbooks to go along with this course?
me too I need some books
"You're going to be dealing in a non-denominational setting". Not just non-denominational setting, also multi-faith, agnostic and atheist settings. You need to realize most people in the world are not Christian and that other religions exist as well. And it's not your place to convert people to your religion, unless you don't mind people from other religions deconverting you and your kids away from Christianity.
I will admit there are Christian zealots too far gone to be reasoned with. But a great deal of former Christians have come to see what they believed is not real. In fact the rate of apostasy in Christianity is growing at a rate surpassing any religion. Christianity is in steep decline in the western world and the stats back this up. I and many other atheists especially make a point of speaking out against the bullshit fundie Christians feed to children. Whether it's hell threats or young earth creationism, once they hear the atheist position, kids usually end up believing us.
I will be following as I take chaplaincy in commission certificates before I joined officer's of salvation army
@@sweetsweatyfeet You really think that this is bull huh-not just someone who strongly believes in Jesus and actually loves you and doesn't want to see you perish? Very awesome that all evil runs at the name of Jesus. And it is strange you bash on Christianity, but not the other religions. This is why Christianity is true. Every one of you do not have an issue with any other belief system, but Christianity and it is your sole target. And as far as the former Christians-no such thing. They were never following Jesus in the first place. The atheist position has always been refuted in this-you love your sin and you just don't want to answer to an Almighty, Awesome and Powerful God who is trying to show you mercy and Grace through his Son Jesus taking your sins even the sin of blaspheming God here. Repent and believe in the Gospel-time is extremely short.
@@sweetsweatyfeetthose who deconvert were never true believers. Been shown everything under the sun of atheism ive never bought it for a minute. Cope and seethe because the truth will never die
I would like a copy of the handouts from this training, they would be helpful.
Excellent.
Excellent training for all who want to assist our Officers. straight to the point and as personal as your calling
Thank you.
I take DOCTOR PRESCRIBED Amphetamine - Dextroamphetime (Adderall), Vicodine and Xanax. ALL DOCTOR PRESCRIBED for ADHD, Chronic Intractable Pain, and Panic Disorder. When I take my meds, I function normally. Without the meds life is hell. Yes, I am "mentally ill". But recently, the local police were called out to deal with a mentally ill person which lead to that person being shot to death by the police. It was recently in the local news that the local police were going to implement a Chaplaincy program. Having the personal relationship with Jesus Christ of Nazareth that I have daily, I thought that maybe I could serve HIM by getting involved in the Chaplaincy program. I think if I was between the police and that mentally ill person, I could have saved his life. I would like for the local police to call upon me especially in cases where they are dealing with the mentally ill. I think I can be of GREAT assistance in these kind of cases, as I am mentally ill myself and would know better ways to calm the person down than to just shoot him to death. So my question is, since I take these doctor prescribed meds, is that a problem to being a Chaplain? Even tho the meds help me to function normally?
Robert Fohr It depends on who you work for. Do they require you to take a urine drug screen? If they do, then they might not hire you because it would be positive for opiates, benzo, and amphetamines. If you ever get hurt on a job, some employers get a urine drug screen then, and then may attribute your injury to be your fault because they could say you were under the influence.
Well done. Well said.
I am a community chaplain in Shreveport, Louisiana. I watched this entire teaching and am in the process of sharing it with my co-chaplains. Thank you so much for your integrity in sharing with us. The teaching is so helpful. We are praying for the police and fire department, including the para-medics. Chaplain L. Bowman.
Priest abuse alcohol as well.
Blame GOD! That is the most common thing. How often do we give GOD the credit for all the good things.
Chaplains: Think to look out for sharps, all kinds. Check to see if you may need PPE? Be ready. I carry cards with me all the time, often some one will wish to make contact days later but do not remember your name. I welcome any and all questions and comments. apointofdeparture.
The paramedics should always be called: Offices can call a death in-which he was wrong. A funeral personal should not remove a deceased without paramedics EKG, death has been verified. I was a deer in the head lights, I just wish it was not true. CRY! SCREAM! That is what I did. A good CRY! TRUE! I am a licensed funeral director, embalmer. as well. from 1977. Priest, chaplain. Vast background in death. A good funeral director is hard to find in 2015. Funeral homes use too many people who are unlicensed. Follow up, I welcome all questions and comments.
Is it possible to get copies of the handout for this training?
